I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oof on probable surgery, but early intervention of whatever kind has got to be better than later.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but ultimately I may need surgery.

I'm afraid I'm going to need something like bunion surgery because I've got some hard little thing in the ball of my foot and it's hurty if I'm barefoot or any other shoes but my running shoes.

I actually went in for a tailor's bunion that's deforming my foot, so I probably will need it so they can realign my bones. I don't think bunions typically form on the bottom of your foot, but rather on the sides? Although clearly I'm not a podiatrist, just someone who has done recent bunion research.

I dislike this growing older thing as I feel more and more rickety in this flesh suit daily.

Yes, but I trust your research. By location, I would expect this to be a plantar wart, but we tried the at-home freeze remedies and they were no go. Anyway...foot problems suck. But it's nothing compared to sciatica as far as mobility issues so it's all in perspective.

Tonight Chez Zmayhem will watch two episodes of What We Do In The Shadows and two episodes of Over the Garden Wall.

I feel like I am going to go back to the cinema to see: French Dispatch, Dune and the Velvet Underground documentary. Maybe the Bond movie too.

My DP has asked to go back for Dune. I'm down.

What is even happening?

Hec, it could be something like a ganglion cyst. The ball of the foot is where my husband's gout first struck, but gout is pretty obvious (swelling and red).

See a doctor. Your feet shouldn't hurt (and walking to accommodate hurty feet can screw up knees, hips, back, etc.). I hope you feel better, soon.

I got rid of a plantar's wart with duct tape (not kidding and am sure it's Google-able.), when the Compound W stuff didn't work. (In fact, I think it was a combo of the 2 that finally killed it off). Warts generally have a cauliflower-like appearance.

Our wings are not tired.

Feet are pretty vital and particular. I had bunion surgery years ago after trashing my feet in marathons. It was tricky to not put any weight on it for 6 weeks, but I got good at navigating with my knee on a rolly chair. It was also when I learned I couldn't take nearly any painkillers, yes a bad time to find that out. I take better care of them now.

Looks like all weekend is going to be rainy. DH is itching to leave because we have a very interested buyer for the house. Well, the same one as months ago has resurfaced. I'm considering letting him go now and having him fly back in a couple of weeks to close the camp and drive back with me. We could leave together maybe Tuesday, but working on the road for me is complex. I don't know.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I almost wish there were anything obviously wrong with my feet, but they just hurt from standing on them, and always have.

I would not want to take over a factory job but I also wouldn’t want to get fired for refusing to? Yikes, what’s a middle management person who doesn’t make the decisions do?

The first time I was management at a place that was having difficult negotiations, they brought us into a meeting to tell us the management position, and some poor guy was like, "but what if I don't agree?" They were like, "lol, no, that's not how this works. You are management, this is the management position. the end." I am glad I've never been working anywhere where people on my team went on strike.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I was on vacation last week and this week has been a garbage fire at work (including finding a dozen important emails from inside the agency in my spam folder WTF), so I just did a threadsuck.

There's too much to respond to other than: Cashmere, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your rage is justified.

Feet are important!

Me, I'm getting my hair cut today as well: all the covid hair is coming off, I'm sick to death of trying to manage it. Going back to my old Judi Dench look unless someone has any recommendations between now and noon...
