"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We've got a visit to JZ's father's gravesite today. We're trying to parse exactly how formal the clothing needs to be for this. The short answer is less formal than the actual memorial and church tomorrow, but no lime green rompers.

Emmett's coming down with his girlfriend, Kalena for both events and we'll get to see Matilda's young cousins, who've grown up quite a bit in the last couple years.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S was up by 7 this morning, demanding sunny side-up eggs on a sandwich. Which he took one bite of and abandoned the rest. (He does stuff like this all too frequently) sigh…

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Huh. I was just peacefully reading my book when I hear a voice - some sort of recorded voice from the vicinity of my Chromebook so I figure an open tab started auto playing something or other. What actually happened is my phone spontaneously called a number from a text message, which was some sort of customer service office that was closed abs had a recorded message to say so. What the hell, phone? Is this Skynet creeping me out?

Now tagless for your comfort.

That is creepy, -t.

I am home. Will quick test for COVID today, just in case. I can never find quick tests at the pharmacy in Wisconsin but they had TONS of them at CVS in Indiana—where nobody gives a shit if they have it or not.

My 21 year old great nephew with type 1 diabetes refused to get vaccinated. He’s got COVID but so far isn’t hospitalized. They are giving him monoclonal antibodies, though.

Driving with my sister to pick up and deliver the remaining flowers and plants plants to a local nursing home, I passed a Trump protest on the street in my hometown. An old Woman stuck her “I miss Trump” sign out at me and I slowed down and gave her the finger.

Our wings are not tired.

Ah, a phone with a mind of its own. Eeep.

Good to be home. Bravo for resisting the opportunity to just run over the Trumpsters. Unspeakable harm has been done in his wake.

I've had something like that happen on my phone, -t. I =think= it was Google's assistant thingy responding to something it heard from my computer. Needless to say, I need to figure out how to turn that assistant thingy off. Very creepy.

Adding on to the annoyances in my life, I chipped a tooth in my sleep. It’s not too big a chip, but it is one.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

and I slowed down and gave her the finger.

Your restraint, Cash, was admirable.

I hope your family tests negative.

I was at a fan convention this weekend eith two friends. There was a Saturday night party but in the past it was like $40, and didn’t start until 10pm, and we figured indoors with covid wouldn’t be great (the conference was masked and vaxxed, but when people are drinking and dancing?). So we put pajamas on and watched great British bake-off…and then my one friend realized it was both outside and free. So we rallied and went out at 11pm!! We felt so unlike our usual crotchety old selves

You got redressed and went out at 11 pm?!?? That is almost midnight and jammies are comfy.

The past two weeks, I’ve been very old. Early dinner, early bed, lots of things I’m happy to complain about.

I really am looking forward for this to get better. It’s long Covid, pet issues, changing schedules and roles at work and just depression. Making steps though.
