Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I crochet, knit, can embroider in may different ways. But I think my joy in crafting is always the helpful result, not just the craft for craf’s sake- I want to have a project. But maybe I can look into knitting mittens to include in student backpacks or for homeless shelters etc. I like to feel useful in my crafts- they are just skills I have, not enjoyment to themselves…
Y’all. My day was going pretty well (other than forgetting to pack my sandals!) but at some point this afternoon/evening I got this weird hickey-looking thing on my chin! Wtf? It looks like I scraped my chin or got a weird hickey but it’s not a spot that would’ve been touching the edge of a mask or anything and I don’t remember scraping it at all?? This is not what I need when I’m trying to look good for the ladies!
Huh, that's odd, meara. Does it hurt to touch, like maybe a blemish under the skin?
Clearly, DH needs the powerwashing simulator.
Sheryl, nothing is harder than trying to help your child navigate life. I hope you find a solution soon.
Sophia, if you were to visit your local knitting shop and ask about local organizations like Knit For Peace, I am sure someone would be delighted to hook you up. The needle arts group here in my neighborhood does things for Fishline House, our local food bank/comprehensive services program. I help wind yarn, as our shop is following distancing protocols and doesn't have room for winders in the space.
Im tired. So fat I've been pulled I a bunch of different directions but after lunch it's 3 hours until I go home.
Also at lunch we were talking about something and someone admitted to working off the clock and I just realized she is a team manager now...when she was hourly she would work off the clock. Someone agreed it's it's only way to get things done, meet your goals, and ad a way to move up.. I don't know if that is true. I strongly said I don't work off the clock. Which made me kind of feel like I was being seen as less than a team player.
I do small things off the clock like answer a customers question but I'm not working through half my lunch and faking my time to get more work done.
I don't think anyone is going to doubt my work ethic over all but if things can't get done in the time allotted they can't get done.
Nobody should work off the clock! I know it happens and I've done it on occasion, but to expect it is wage theft.
Nobody should work off the clock! I know it happens and I've done it on occasion, but to expect it is wage theft.
This is the correct answer! If you can't meet your goals on the clock then their goals are exploitive.
Good lord, no, don't work off the clock!
OK, so I shouldn't be allowed to have carpeting... and I really live it anyway... especially on stairs where I'm constantly going up and down with beverages. Having said that, we rent, so it is my lot at the moment.
Does anyone have opinions on steam cleaning carpet services? Good idea? Just rent my own at the grocery store? Even worth it at all? It's looking pretty rough right about now...
