I mean, your feets are pretty important. They take you everywhere.
Facts. My "yoga" class tonight was like 1/3 self foot massage. I put yoga in quotes because my teacher literally threw in a downward dog at the end so people would think it was a yoga class. She's hilarious.
His family is distraught but also adamant that if the doctors had just listened to them and done vitamin treatments, he'd be fine. I really get being scared. But when did we think we knew better how to treat a deadly disease?
Seriously, wtf.
Seriously, wtf.
IDEK.
These professionally licensed peeps went to science schools and everything...
I want that yoga teacher! Not that I've done yoga in ages, but she sounds fab.
I believe I do not need a referral for an in-network podiatrist and have scheduled an appointment next week to have someone look at my feets.
Ooh, good intel, as I needed to have my foot tended to and I've been thinking I'd have to wend my way through the discouraging referral process.
I really just want an accessible clinic with Nurse Practitioners and referrals 90% of the time.

Trufax. I stand corrected.

When I started looking for an in-network podiatrist, the site said "you may require a referral!" And I was like, you are my insurance, why can you not tell me if I need a fucking referral? So I dug around my insurance plan some more and found a list of specialists that don't require referrals if they're in-network and another (shorter) list that do. But I can report back on Bay Area Foot Care at 1 Shrader!
Today we celebrate the birth of JenP! May it be a most delightful day, followed by a year of love and joy.
Yay for well-loved and cared for feets.
Feet are important ! I was going to see a podiatrist but then I got furloughed and not being on my feet and, I think, walking barefoot in the grass almost every day for weeks really helped them.
It also helps that M gives great foot massages and I can get them almost every day
I really need to invest on more shoes bit between the shape of my feet and my problems it makes them ard to find. Although my wider toe box and narrow heels are probably a bigger obstacle .
Trufax. I stand corrected
I see what you did there. Nice.
ETA: Thank you, Laura!
Podiatrists are good - my old one was marvelous - his office was near where I lived, he had Saturday morning hours and he was inexpensive enough that insurance didn't come into it. Sadly, he retired and passed his practice on to his son in law who has inconvenient hours, the office isn't as conveniently located and he's more expensive and does require insurance. sigh ... haven't been since before the great lockdown, but I probably should get in - my calluses and corns are getting uncomfortable.
In vaccine news (well, not new) - there was a prominent anti-vaccine woman who went into the hospital and ended up intubated. Some of her supporters were demanding that the doctors treat her with horse paste; the doctors, since there was no medical science to support that treatment, didn't. She died and her supporters were agitating to have the doctors charged with murder. There's also a video out of a man who was in the hospital with the virus being encouraged to leave, since the doctors weren't treating him as the anti-vaccine crew advised. He was older and very sick and, as you might expect, died shortly after.
On the lighter side, I saw a video of an anti-vaccine march and someone with a bullhorn asking why all the homeless people weren't dead in the street. One of the homeless nearly said it was because he'd been vaccinated (adding "you dumb motherf*cker" for emphasis).
You all made me laugh as hard as when I told the story of Dad getting a broken ankle and a concussion when making a jump as a paratrooper in high wind.
His vision was blurred and he was confused by all the moaning injured troops in the hospital and tried to make a run for it, thinking he had died and gone to hell.
“You’re not getting me, you bastard!”
Jefferson’s is a damn fine sipping coping mechanism. Smooth.
Minimal hangover.
I love you all.
