JZ and Matilda are slowly rousting themselves up to go to church. When they return I am tasked with trimming Matilda's bangs in advance of Picture Day this week, and also hanging out with new school friends Zane and Vanessa. Last night she was on a Facetime call with new school friend Carlin and they were laughing the whole time while they did homework together. Laughing like a drain, as Fay would say.

It was a source of some anxiety that Matilda was going to a school without her elementary or middle school friends, but she's just gone out and made new ones (while retaining most of the old ones). One Freshman girl, Chloe, said, "I don't know how to make friends," so Matilda said, "Then I guess you're sitting with us for lunch." Which is what Chloe does every day now.

I had crazy dreams last night (one of which I was v annoyed to wake up in the middle of and not be able to get back to) but in several cases boiled down to “damnit I really want someone to be into me and me be into them” and this stupid pandemic is the WORST.

I had crazy dreams last night

me too. mine were not at all about wanting mutual attraction. A mobile home with drug using, drug dealing family that vacated the place overdue on rent...I was there to watch a child or something, was caught unawares with them vacating and got caught up in a mess of cops, a bunch of abandoned pets, other drug dealers wanting money, and super super weirdly injured celebrities which I am not sure how that got tied in, but we definitely had people in gowns one of whom was shot and 911 was called.
