claimed it was a teller error and they’d typed the wrong account number.
Wow! Maybe they watched the tape and saw which customer it was and they have a similar account number? Bad handwriting on the part of the customer on the withdrawal slip?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Steph inspired my main plan for tomorrow. No, not hiking in Vermont, going to Trader Joe's to buy everything pumpkin!!!!!
I'm out here changing lives.
Remembering back to when I was a teller for Wells Fargo...that's plausible. At least back then it was just a manual check that the name on the account matches the person doing the withdrawing, and it would be easy to not pay attention to that if the money is there and everyone was in a hurry (and everyone is always in a hurry, right?). It's that interface between what's in the records and who is physically in the bank that's the weakness. Glad wasn't something more nefarious, meara, but argh at all the unnecessary inconvenience and worry for you! They should do something super nice for you to make up for it but I don't even know what a bank could do for you other than give you some money and that seems like an unlikely outcome.
Tep in VT sounds so fab!

I'm with Jesse on TJs tonight. You truly are!
Yep -- Tim's cousin is getting married in Vermont, and since (1) we didn't take a vacation (or really any time off) last year, and (2) our wedding anniversary is next week, we decided to turn the trip into a weeklong vacation. I had lofty plans of lots of challenging hikes, and those plans turned into "short lazy hike on the flattest ground possible while still being on a trail" followed by "anniversary couples' massage and/or fuck it, maybe a whole spa day because we are both so goddamn burned out." And probably just loafing around the shore of Lake Champlain. Also hot cider donuts, Ben & Jerry's, and a maple soft-serve that is the most amazing ice cream product I've ever eaten. And then at the end of the week, 2 days of Beckmeyer shenanigans. There are many, many family members who haven't seen how I enthusiastically dance really, really badly at weddings.
NICE!! You go, Girl! (Go and chill and relax and enjoy yourself!)
Yikes, lisah! That sounds no fun! Glad you're doing some better today. Hope the weekend of chilling takes you the rest of the way back.
Oh yeah, I meant to say OW, lisah! That sounds terrible and I hope you can take care of yourself.
All we are doing currently is sitting around waiting to get the results of our Covid tests because we were both exposed (ND much longer than me) to someone (fully vaccinated) who tested positive earlier this week. He's doing really well and has no symptoms and his wife has tested negative twice, so crossing fingers we also both get negative results.
Steph, what gluten-free bread do you like? Specifically for grilled cheese if that makes a difference. (Not for me - we're doing a thing at work next week and somebody gluten-intolerant wasn't going to be able to partake. I figure since I already have to get the lactose-free cheese for myself, I can grab gluten free bread for her while I'm in Sprouts anyway).
