Apparently if you're enough of a power nerd, there is nothing that cannot be flowcharted.

Packing and whatnot for vacation! (We leave way too early on Monday morning.)

This is the trip you were googling spas for?

Yep -- Tim's cousin is getting married in Vermont, and since (1) we didn't take a vacation (or really any time off) last year, and (2) our wedding anniversary is next week, we decided to turn the trip into a weeklong vacation. I had lofty plans of lots of challenging hikes, and those plans turned into "short lazy hike on the flattest ground possible while still being on a trail" followed by "anniversary couples' massage and/or fuck it, maybe a whole spa day because we are both so goddamn burned out." And probably just loafing around the shore of Lake Champlain. Also hot cider donuts, Ben & Jerry's, and a maple soft-serve that is the most amazing ice cream product I've ever eaten. And then at the end of the week, 2 days of Beckmeyer shenanigans. There are many, many family members who haven't seen how I enthusiastically dance really, really badly at weddings.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Steph, that sounds wonderful. I hope you have a great time!

Our wings are not tired.

{{lisah}} Ouch!

Not sure about weekend plans yet. Saturday my niece is going to help train me on using a gentle leader with Skinner. I just can't handle him, and she thinks I can with this. Weather permitting I may go kayaking around the lake to check out the fall leaves. Mostly just being relaxed.

Sounds glorious, Steph. I wanted to take the ferry across Lake Champlain from NY to VT and do the Ben & Jerry's tour, but they are renovating, so next year. It would be a hella drive for a cone, just sayin'. We went across the lake on the ferry a few times when I was a kid and it is a fond memory. My dad used to buy liquor on the VT side because the taxes were cheaper or some such.

Bank called! (I insisted they give me the extension so I could call back on the main number, tho!) claimed it was a teller error and they’d typed the wrong account number. Wtf. For $6k? I was like “it’s an inconvenience for me because I have the money and other bank accounts, but for someone else this would’ve been a huge nightmare!” Now I gotta fix my direct deposit too, because it was supposed to hit today but the account is closed and I wasn’t able to update work info in time

claimed it was a teller error and they’d typed the wrong account number.

Yeah, but they originally told you that someone walked into a brick-and-mortar brnach and withdrew the money. So either the mythical person who made the withdrawal or the mythical teller who typed the wrong number (or both) is a lie. That wouldn't fill me with confidence about their continued ability to be your bank.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

That's good news, except for all of the irritating parts.

meara - Sep 17, 2021 11:00:40 am PDT #9323 of 29865

Yeah—I think they’re still saying someone walked in and withdrew money, but they’re claiming the teller who did that withdrawal fucked up. Not 100% sure I believe (aren’t there double checks??) but I’d also believe if it was a thieving teller they probably wouldn’t tell me?

Approve of cake choice. But, really, there wasn't one I wouldn't have liked.

lisah, ouch! Heal well.

Steph, that sounds heavenly.

meara, I'm glad it's resolved, but yikes.

Laura, lake kayaking and relaxing sound fab.

I kind of want to schedule a massage for this weekend now. Hmmm.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think those fit together? Someone walked into a branch to withdraw money from their own account, and the teller took it from the wrong account by accident. Anyway.

Steph inspired my main plan for tomorrow. No, not hiking in Vermont, going to Trader Joe's to buy everything pumpkin!!!!!
