Sending ~ma to your friend, Jen. Going to the hospital for anything these days has an added element of worry. I do have to say that heart cath stuff is super well-established routine medicine these days with excellent outcomes. Not a whole lot of fun for the patient, but generally very successful.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Thanks, Laura. Agreed, for sure. I had one when I was in that year (all the things went kafluey!), and it was super smooth. He's really most concerned about it in terms of impact on his ability to travel right now. Like, no one wants a bypass, but better to get one than not and not know you need one.
Laura, get the flu shot! You don't want flu and, if that's not enough incentive, I know you don't want to pass flu along to a vulnerable person who may not survive it. Flu season has started already and it's no joke! I got my shot yesterday.
I'm shamed to say I'm late getting my shingles shot. I just keep forgetting. But I told the pharmacist I'd come back to get it next week. My grandmother had it on her forehead and was left with lifelong pain and vision issues.
I am a bad bad person. My general rule in life is that I don't care to tell other adults what to do; I didn't like it with kids either! I have been very concerned about DH. His weight is out of control. Granted he is a very big man, but he is pushing 400 at this point. He is super helpful and supportive of my weight loss and has me check menus before we eat out and so forth, but he buys bags of chips, pizza, soda, and all manner of crap. I know it is stress, but it is very worrisome. He has issues getting up and down and has broken chairs. God knows I couldn't help him get up if he can't. He has also needed hernia surgery for 6 years and the surgeon won't do it until he loses weight. So, yesterday I was on my nearly daily phone call with my favorite medical office manager, and the manager of the office of our doctor. I told her DH was back in Florida and she was delighted because she had stuff for him to do. Normally he goes in early morning or after hours, but I asked her to have him come in mid-day so he would "run into" his doctor. She was totally on board as she is also concerned and she sees him off-hours often. His doctor will no doubt pull him into his office and give him a serious talking to that I haven't been able to accomplish. I know the doctor well and every time I am there on business, usually during the day to work with staff, he always pulls me aside to discuss my health. It feels sneaky and underhanded, but if it gets him to take this seriously it will be worth it.
So, sorry for the guilt drop, I guess the only ~ma needed is a wake-up call for him before something awful happens.
I should get a shingles shot but I have no idea how to arrange that. Have an appointment fir flu shot today. At work, so I was planning on actually working at the office today. This morning we had a wee thunderstorm and *boom* my power went out so I’m not going to try to shower etc until there’s some light to do it by. This will be an interesting day.
Laura, get the flu shot!
I expect my doctor will give me a lecture. Maybe. Since I never get that kind of stuff I generally don't worry. Of course, I spend a lot of time in doctor's offices around sick people so should. But then again I haven't done that the last couple of years much!
PG&E already sent me an email saying they’ll have people working on our power outage in half an hour. Nice!
Blood draw this morning did not go smoothly. IV in the elbow would allow input, but not outflow. Tried draw fron the back of one hand, flow was very slow, managed two tubes. Back of the other hand, same. Gonna have three nice big bruises, sigh.
CT with contrast went okay. Now to wait two more hours while the radiotracer soaks my bones, then I have 40 minutes of lying motionless in the scanner.
Onc evaluation and consult Monday morning.
Laura, get your 'flu shot!
Sorry about the difficult blood draws, dcp. Not fun. ~ma that the scans show good progress.
Power~ma, -t.
