I am really trying to cross train! I think I actually have to cross train the director, who is new. Most of the “lurch” stuff tends to involve being a person who can fix things that have never come up before! My new duties for instructional design basically have back-up, but the Center for Lifelong Learning has a director who has only been appointed since July and a new assistant who started in August. But they are both great and quick to learn, so I am hopeful they will be up to speed soon. We also have to be able to transfer some of the technology support for certain programs to IT- we have an odd strution where instructional design is not part of IT reporting structure- most of our instructional designers (except 2 of us) are faculty and the two of us report to them. So when we introduce new technologies, I think IT sort of resents it and just sends it to us! But I get it, because the problem sometimes stems from HOW the instructor is using the technology for learning, which we can help make suggestions. But sometimes the issue is “I can’t log in”, which I hate supporting.
Also, what was the old very funny website that Danny Lavery had before he was Dear Prudence?
JenP I am going to see my parents, who I have not seen in person since JAN 2020!!!
Holy shit! That is awesome. Whole week?
Sophia, cross training for the win. And I do not know.
I am dogsitting sweet little Cupid today, while her folks are taking Matilda overnight camping in Sonoma. Matilda's friend, Iris, was out walking Cupid in the nearby dog park last week when a big dog, off-leash, came rushing out of nowhere, snatched Cupid up and chomped her pretty bad. Broke her ribs, punctured her lung. The person responsible for the dog was walking it for his visiting Father-in-Law, and had no idea this dog would attack. Now he's responsible for $20,000 worth of dog surgery.
Anyway, I've know Cupid since she was a puppy tied up in front of Matilda's elementary school and we've looked after her before. She's the sweetest old girl now, missing most of her teeth. It's the second time she's been attacked by a dog and needed ER care! Poor thing! Leave her alone, mean dogs!
She looks pretty rough. One side shaved down, stitched up. A raw open wound and a tube. She's still waggy though.
She's happy to accept scritches inside her cone though, and snarfled up a slice of turkey. She's on heavy meds so hopefully she'll sleep all day and she'll be collected tonight.
The Toast.
I miss The Toast so much!
almost a full week.
bathrooms are done. roomba has started. beds have been stripped. I think I have found a place to get tested on Monday.
Have a wonderful visit, msbelle. They must be so excited. How has Mac been doing?
Poor Cupid! Mean bullies taking advantage of the old and weak. Grrrr.
DH departs tomorrow to drive back to Florida. Don't like him traveling when it is so busy, but it makes sense.
Poor Cupid.
M's mom said she was inviting her son and daughter in law over Sunday instead of going to their house. She asked if I had any objections. Since they go over there every week I said it's not that much different. And she wants to invite her daughter and her son in law and their kids...one of whom was the one exposed to covid. But she hasn't been sick.
I will be at work tomorrow so it won't really effect me.
Also I'm wearing the corduroy skirt I was gushing about on FB and it was snug at the waist when I got it and now it is a little loose.
Timelies all!
Ugh. Mr. S was up and out of bed before 6:30 this morning. No rest for the weary...
