Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Happy Birthday, Casper!

Sophia, I'm sorry that was all such a snafu, but I'm glad it's resolved now, and there's work on making it right (and sense-making!) for next year.

Pix, I had it done. For me, at least, the trepidation and apprehension was the worst, and it's hard not to be anxious. But the procedure itself isn't that bad, and I recovered pretty quickly. Good thoughts to you.

I will attest to the fact that Jellycat stuffies are very very soft. Yes.

I composed this last night and forgot to hit post. So, here, have a post, and I'll go back and read todays news.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yes to the skirt

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I would say that it would be a shame to not have that skirt.

I have to be at work a half hour early today. WHY???? (I mean, I agreed to it and all.. it just seems to my morning brain that it was an unwise decision.)

Ha, ha, ha, I started the day with a text from the dentist's office reminding me about a visit this morning that I had 100% forgotten about. Yes it's on my calendar. At least it's at 10:20, so I will actually make it. Still, that's some epic Mondaying, that is.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Health~ma, Pix.

Askye, that is some nonsense.

Steph, that skirt is delightful!

I have a short week as I'm taking some vacation time. I'll be visiting family in MI over Labor Day weekend for the first time in over a year and a half. There's a shiny new great-nephew for me to make funny faces at. I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Agreeing that the bee skirt is delightful - I was, myself, tempted ... and I haven't worn a skirt or dress in ... three years? four?

Also, it seems that the Build A Bear people are doing a Lord of the Rings series - Frodo, Gandalf and Gollum. At least in the U.K. - I saw an article on it in the Manchester online news. Outfits (for Frodo and Gandalf) are extra.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Also, if you wear it around Jessica she'll reenact the Wicker Man scene with Nicholas Cage for you.

Reenact in the sense of saying "Not the bees, not the bees!" and waving my arms around dramatically. I can't honestly promise a genuine Nic Cage impression.

Bee skirt is a resounding yes.

Sending procedure and results -ma out to Pix.

Askye, ridiculousness, but they seem to understand your actual value to them as an employee, if I've been interpreting correctly as you've shared things -- nonsense, draconian policies notwithstanding. I hope that's making it more tolerable.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Reenact in the sense of saying "Not the bees, not the bees!" and waving my arms around dramatically. I can't honestly promise a genuine Nic Cage impression.

That will suffice.

I got kudos from my hygenist this morning - my gums were in crap shape back when I started this dental journey, but this morning they are 100% normal and recovered.

She was delighted and kind of surprised at how well they shaped up. But I've become a dedicated multi-times daily flosser and pretty regular mouth rinser after that dreadful first showing. I'd say brusher, but I've always been that. I just rarely did the extra stuff. But now I do!

Still have a filling and two permanent crowns to go, then Invisalign, and, finally, two implants, but, you know, progress. The longer I can healthily keep these bad boys, the better.
