Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Sigh...Mr. S didn't go to sleep until after 10 last night, and it's showing. I got home from work to find him upset because his eyes hurt(he went to the pool with the babysitter) and worked himself into a tizzy. He fell asleep for a little bit, then got upset again. Hopefully a good night's sleep will get him resettled.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am OUT OF PATIENCE!!!! Numbers going up everywhere. We are probably going to reinstate mask mandate at work. I'm still wearing mine when not at my desk due to unvaccinated ppl in the bldg not wearing their masks.

Artists are withdrawing from Austin City Limits Festival I go to each year. No word from the festival if they would close it to unvaccinated people or are looking at cancelling it again.

TOO MUCH STRESS

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My former neighbor who works at the pizza parlor next door just told me and a friend about refusing to serve a Shirley Temple to some poor 15-year-old because of her age. He just would not believe us about it being a non-alcoholic drink until his co-worker joined in and made it three to one. I was afraid to ask what kind of liquor he thinks grenadine is.

Coding and Sleeping

After a 13 hour day Friday and an 11 hour day yesterday, I worked just 8 hours today!. Then I exercised, went to the grocery store, did two loads of laundry, a load of dishes, took out garbage, and cooked dinner. I also think I'm coming down with something. So tired.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I worked just 8 hours today!

How very sane!

I also think I'm coming down with something. So tired.

Dislike! But points for exercise.

Our wings are not tired.

Sleep is super important. There probably has only been less than a handful of times I have denied myself a full night's sleep in the past 7 years. I committed myself to getting myself in bed and reading for a time, then lights out. It has honestly changed my life. I spent decades with lack of sleep between pulling all nighters for work or just insomnia. No more. Best life change I ever made.

It's Wednesday! DH thinks we are leaving for NY Friday. We shall see. I'll be ready, but his list is way longer. I'll miss my pool, but I won't miss Florida in general. A bit on the steamy side.

I went to a grocery store yesterday. Masked up of course. I'd say 80% were, but somehow I suspect those that weren't are likely the same people who didn't vax. Everyone in my age group was! Perhaps that with age comes wisdom thing has some merit.

Gud, working 8 hours in one day and doing all that stuff is probably more than I accomplish in a week (she says, realizing that it’s going to be 90 degrees the next three days and she hasn’t done laundry recently so none of her shorts are clean….)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Our back in the office day got pushed out by one week so now it's the day after Labor Day. That is going to be the worst come-back-to-work-after a holiday ever. And it's a Tuesday so I will be starting at 6 am. I can't quite roll out of bed at 5:45 and be in the office by 6 the way I have been managing my Tuesdays...

Our wings are not tired.

Bummer. Start a petition that Tuesday is WFH day?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You guys, see this tweet: [link]

Just learned there is a YA book coming out soon in which a teen looks for clues about her birth mother in HER DAD’s LIVEJOURNAL. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt older than in this very moment.

And then the author comes in talking about "fellow millennials," and this Gen Xer is really feeling older than ever.
