Just learned there is a YA book coming out soon in which a teen looks for clues about her birth mother in HER DAD’s LIVEJOURNAL. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt older than in this very moment.
And then the author comes in talking about "fellow millennials," and this Gen Xer is really feeling older than ever.
Ha! Will we feel that way about FB some day?
Oh my god. That is….I just….wow.
Oh dear. I mean, yeah that tracks with calendars and whatnot but also NOOO
Although also I do kinda want to read that now
I am out in the world meeting a friend for lunch/drinks! I feel very daring. Also I haven’t seen this friend in over a decade and we haven’t really kept in touch online but we talked on the phone (can you believe that?!) on Monday and that was pretty great so I am excited. Also I am having tacos and a cocktail right now and they are both yum. Red letter day.
Dallas County issued an emergency mask order Wednesday following a judge's ruling that local leaders could require masks as a measure to curb the spread of COVID-19. An executive order from Gov. Greg Abbott previously prevented mask mandates.
This is good, but I can't imagine the shit people are going to get trying to enforce this.
Yay tacos and cocktails!
Dear Texas, why for are you and Florida trying so hard to outcrazy each other?
I just spent 20 minutes trying to explain viruses to my dad.
Also found out my favorite diner in Salt Lake closed in May.
I want a drink. I'm not kidding.
I swear DeSantis wants to kill as many people as possible. He's running for re election as well, I don't get his strategy unless he thinks he can just rely on the hard core Covid is no Big Deal voters... but will enough be alive next year to vote for him?
This is a very good thing...

It plays in perfectly with the "liberals want to control every part of your life and are therefore an existential threat" narrative.
