With the way people travel these days - including the increase in air travel - any disease is going to spread, especially with the people who won't get vaccinated. And those who won't wear masks. I'm infuriated at the people on public transit who refuse to wear masks - they can get them for free on the bus and in the train stations, but they don't. There was a story by a doctor in ... Alabama? ... who said that she has young people coming in with COVID and just before she puts them on a ventilator they ask for the vaccine and she has to tell them it's too late.
I did see that a number of bars and restaurants will only seat people who are vaccinated inside, anyone who isn't has to sit outside. Which isn't a big problem now ... we'll see how it goes when it gets cold.
Fortunately I live where eating outside is rarely an issue, and I always preferred outside before Covid. It is a noise thing. Inside seating is often too noisy for me to relax and enjoy. That said, more than ever I just choose restaurants with outdoor seating.
I used to eat out so much, now I probably could count the times I have eaten at a restaurant in the past year and a half. I miss it. Take out isn't the same as being served.
In short: I fucking hate everybody who is not getting vaccinated and every school district and work place should mandate it.

Key point - if you get vaccinated now, you're much more likely to live another 20 years!

I remotely thought I would go back to my chorus in mid-August, but it's dawning on me that they probably won't have any safeguards.
I should admit, I am not currently wearing a mask at work but (a) I am alone in my office and (b) there are like maybe 10 people on this entire floor (we aren't required to return to the office until Sept) and I know everyone here is vaccinated. I mask up as soon as I walk in the elevator, and If I worked in a customer-facing job or a busier office I would look like that meme where the person is wearing 12 masks all over their head.
I’m super excited because the bar we dance at, which just started dancing back up two weeks ago, decided to move to vax-only!! I was feeling awkward about the dancing but went the first night, but now I will feel much better about it (I know most of the folks were vaccinated anyway but still).

Its no surprise that E has grown up to be so brave and strong, but it is wonderful to see.
I'm trying to figure out what makes sense for our Planet Fitness. It's huge, well ventilated, they have two "off" treadmills between every working one, and it's never crowded, but... working out with a mask on seems not ideal. Inconvenience is better than disease, though.
Honestly, if it weren't so freaking hot no matter what time of day, I'd just do my Zombie Run training outside and probably back off on weights for the time being. Maybe add a Zoom yoga. Ergh. I dunno.
It's the first time in my life I've ever been consistent with exercise, and, you know, at this point it's about staying mobile as I age more than anything else, so... will figure it out. Also, DP is exercising, too, and I don't want him to lose his momentum either as it is doing him just as much good.
