Matt, oh dear.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Matt, that does seem like good information to have...and a really unfortunate way to acquire it.
We've got him a rapid test scheduled for tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed it's negative and just allergies.
Shrift, I hope he agrees to a test, and that his symptoms go away quickly. It is tough when every time you get congestion or any issue you have to consider that possibility. eta: cross post
Matt, I apologize for laughing, but it sounds like something I would do.
Son is miserable and turned down comfort food offers. He did agree to down at least some almond milk, and maybe a piece of toast and take some tylenol. GF got her period today on top of it all and really doesn't want to eat but promised to try too. Both have a fairly good attitude about it. Son even posted a number of jokes about it today including a picture with his card and his approval of Bill Gates controlling him. I'll have to post one of them to the Buffista FB group.
Matt that definitely sounds like something I would do.
Had my telehealth appointment with my therapist I've been looking forward to August because he was going to start doing in person appointments but he's delayed that indefinitely. He had one in patient appointment with a vaccinated client, outside, 6ft way, both masked- but the client called him to say he'd tested positive for Covid. Then his daughter's boyfriend's brother got covid despite being vaccinated.
My therapist has a son who is too young to be vaccinated and for that reason he's not going to take any chances. So I'll be telehealthing for awhile longer.
I haven't been wearing a mask at work and I know I need to start wearing one. I have noticed more people wearing masks, it went from almost nobody, to seeing more masked customers, especially families.
Post Deleted!

The CDC announced today that vaccinated people in high-risk areas (about 2/3 of all US counties) should go back to wearing masks indoors: [link]
I'm not quite sure what to make of this, from the CDC's announcement: "vaccinated people infected with the Delta coronavirus variant can have as much virus as those who are unvaccinated." I don't know if that means they're asymptomatic carriers or if they actually develop Covid. I guess it could probably be both, at least in some people.
I wear a mask most of the time I'm away from home - even to go down the hallway to dump trash. I don't wear one while sitting at my desk at work, but do when I step away. I get aggravated at the people who ignore the signs on Metro that masks are required - they can get a mask when they go in, but there doesn't seem to be anything to make them wear masks. It seems to be mainly tourists.
Comment of the day in regard to the vaccines? "You have a better chance of lightning striking your nipple rings than you have of dying or being harmed by the vaccine."

AUGH. It might also be this respiratory thing going around. My mom, my husband, and I all caught it, and Husband and Mom were hit hard with it.
My boss has a bad respiratory infection - he's gone to the doctor and been assured it's not COVID, is taking antibiotics and is actually getting better. Seemingly, it's going around.
