Sometimes when I'm sitting in class... You know, I'm not thinking about class, 'cause that would never happen. I think about kissing you. And it's like everything stops. It's like, it's like freeze frame. Willow kissage.

New issue, giant wasp nest in tree right out my front door.

At least it's a problem for which fire is a solution!

For the past five business days I've been trying to get a vendor access to a google drive, involving multiple emails to four different people. I hope this isn't an indication of how difficult it will be to get anything done on the project once it starts up in earnest.

Ugh. Matt. Is it people or tech issues? Or people using tech. That sounds unfun.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Sometimes, fire is NOT the solution. It's nice when it is, but ....

edited to add that there is reference - but no image - of a jillifont

Punishingly Intricate

Gud, I hope you realize there's nothing to solve about your daughter's future in-law issue. The hosts set the rules and people can choose to follow them or not come. If I were your daughter I'd be thinking long and hard about hitching my wagon to a family like that but especially to a partner who seems to not be handling this issue with his family himself and, instead, making it your family's problem.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Thank you for the Empress links.

People and red tape issues, I think. Though we did get a visit from tech issues for much of a training session today, so I can't absolutely rule them out.

On the bright side I managed to get InDesign 2021 to launch without crashing for the first time in months, so the tech aspect hasn't been all bad today.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Toddson, I bet I know what news story you linked to.

I am back to low-carb life to help manage my escalating pain & fatigue levels, whee. I'm blowing a large part of today's carbs on a small dish of chocolate gelato, because I have been non-stop cat herding for work all day, and it's not going to end until sometime after 6pm.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

A few folks (shrift and Cindy as I recall) were interested in kicking in some money to buy esse a small portable a/c unit for their apartment after they had to take refuge from the heatwave at a motel.

I think we can collect money through JZ's Paypal account, if there's interest.

But also I wanted to ask if anybody had any preferred models of air conditioner for a small apartment. She can't have a window unit, but a smaller portable one would work.

I can look at some best-of lists (and I am, and Black and Decker looks well regarded) but I'd rather exploit the hivemind first.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We took Gary's mom out for a belated birthday dinner. It ended up being a bit of a fustercluck. Even though she is vaccinated, Gary's mom refuses to eat inside a restaurant. Which became a problem when it began raining hard, with serious winds.( we were under a large umbrella, but said wind blew the rain sideways) Once the rain died down, and the table and chairs were dried off, we got our food. Except the side dish I ordered. I asked several times for it, and got told by different servers that they would go check on it....and nothing. Eventually I got it, but it was not a great thing. Also, Mr. S was being very fidgety.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have no recommendations, but am happy to chip in.
