Yeah, that sort of thing is why I'm in no rush to get back to the office, even though I'm fully vaxxed. I'm glad it's not too severe for her.
I did not get magnetic powers or 5G. My hair's a bit curlier than before the pandemic, but then most of my greys are coming in curly, and there are quite a few more of them now, so that's probably why. If Pfizer had a jab that made your hair curl they would have sold it to Garnier years ago.

This is why we need herd immunity! (The real kind you get from high vaccination rates, not the bullshit kind where we just let everyone get Covid.)
We've talked about a cross-country family road trip this summer if the Canadian border doesn't open up, but I'm kind of terrified that we'd be putting the unvaccinated 10 year-old at risk traveling through anti-vax parts of the country.

Mr. S started camp today, and it seems to have gone well.
The risk that even vaccinated we might catch and spread is enough that the three doctors in the family have declined the invitation to a family wedding where we know there will be some unvaxxed people (because the bride has confirmed some of her family are not vaccinated, and we assume others because that part of the country is not well vaxxed). We are still going, but we won't be dancing or mingling much (the music will be fantastic because this nephew majored in Bluegrass [and math; he's a math professor now]). Fortunately, it is all outside. If the weather doesn't permit that, we might be making a different decision.

Honestly, I've lost a lot of Give a Shit or compassion for people in the US who don't want to (not can't because of age or any medical reason) get the vaccine.
I wouldn't care about them at all except they are a freaking petri dish begging this virus to evolve. And thus they are still a threat to me and everyone. There is a safe, effective and free vaccination.

I'm trying to find the old Laura, but I keep running into obstacles that just reinforce the realization that the world has gone mad.
I am a mighty mighty mouse hunter. This morning one caught dead mouse in kitchen and one caught dead mouse in the garage. I’ve set a trap again in the garage and will look to see if I have more that I can sit in the kitchen but I’m feeling much better about the rodent situation.
