Dana, definitely allergies.
askye, that is some deep learning and progressing.
In news of the silly, I just almost spit out a sip of coffee because I laughed at a funny to me response I thought of to text my friend. Yeah, I almost caused MYSELF to do a spit take. That takes some skill, I tell you what.
I am extra magpie-y this morning, super hard to focus and the inter webs keep calling for my attention.
I need to stay on task and get some stuff out of my email.
There are PEOPLE in the office! the huge space I've had all to myself for the past 15 months now has OTHER PEOPLE in it. ack!

I've been feeling the same way about the train every morning - when I started going into the office it was empty, now I'm having to SHARE SEATS WITH PEOPLE WHAT THE HELL.
Oh, no, Toddson! I hope they don't bother you too much.
askye, you are awesome in that I-am-in-awe sense. That's a lot of work you've done and are doing.

My brother is visiting my parents and I came down to work in my dad's office and be sociable and it is WEIRD. We were all ahhhhh-hugging-feels-scary but we did it and it IS scary but also nice.
Argh. I’ve had a mild headache for a couple days—bad enough that Tylenol didn’t do much, but not bad enough that it seemed necessary to take migraine meds? So of course this morning at 630 I woke up and was like “oh yeah, time to take the real drugs”. Now to work through a day not 100% here…
I'm searching my bookmarks, but I can't find Megan Walker's recipe for Clafoutis.
Does anyone have it? Sour cherries are BACK!
Did someone say clafoutis? Hang on...
Actually, I think this may be Jesse's recipe. Or, I stole the melting butter trick from her and combined it with my mom's. The rum makes me suspect this is my mom's but at this point I'm not sure. In any case, here is the original.
Cherry Clafoutis:
2 tbsp butter
2 cups cherries (or blueberries)
4 eggs
½ cup sugar
½ cup lowfat milk
½ cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp dark rum
¾ cup flour
pinch salt
--Preheat oven to 350°. Place butter in 8x8 glass pan to melt in oven.
--Whisk eggs in bowl. Add sugar and whisk until mixture thickens and is pale yellow. Add milk, cream, vanilla, and rum. Whisk to combine. Add flour and salt. Whisk to combine.
--Layer berries over the bottom of the glass pan. Pour mixture over berries in pan.
--Bake, rotating once, about 45 minutes.
I've actually been experimenting with this based on some of the recipes in my French book of clafoutis recipes. I've tried substituting with different amounts of almond flour. That works okay if you only use about 1/4 cup of the almond. Also, the above is a bit eggy, so I've tried using 3 eggs and also 3 eggs + one yolk (the latter is almost right I think but it really depends on the eggs). I've also tried actually buttering the pan instead of melting the butter and I definitely do not prefer that.
The megan walker signal worked! Neat
