Being in the Covid hotbed of Missouri, I'm really upset by right-wing media. How many people are going to die because media outlets decided that vaccines and public safety measures played so well into the-libs-are-taking-away-your-freedoms narrative? There are left-wing media outlets that push bad science that is harmful as well, and that makes me upset as well, but they tend to be more fringe. You can't really say Fox News is fringe.

Laura, the HP audio books are fabulous.

I'll third that vote. Emmett grew up listening to Jim Dale.

The Delta Variant is going to hit areas that are unvaxxed so hard. It's much more contagious, more easily transmissible.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Good morning. Back from vacation. No motivation.

I'm finding it hard to maintain motivation now that I've given notice. I'm also anxious in that way where the new job doesn't feel real yet. Friday I'll start on-boarding with their HR person so that will help.

I'm moderately concerned about the Delta variant. If you look at how it's spread in Israel, which is a country that has a high vaccination rate, there's a significant number of vaccinated people who are getting/transmitting the Delta variant (it looks like the mRNA Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are about 80%-85% effective at keeping people out of the hospital if they get the Delta variant). And it's spread rapidly through the age group of kids who are too young to be vaccinated, who in turn give it to their families.

I'm worried about nursing homes especially. They're all open in Ohio, and family visits are unrestricted again (at least at my FiL's facility), and that could lead to the Delta variant getting in there and spreading quickly.

I have an at-home testing device for COVID-19 that just arrived, which I hope is reliable and not a Theranos-style bamboozle. I'm going to take it with me to Michigan since my two youngest nieces aren't vaccinated yet and I'm a little concerned about the Delta variant sweeping through my family because of it.

But I won't get the biopsy report back before Friday.

Benign test~ma for J and I'm sorry about the sky-high vet bill, Consuela.

I have been diagnosed with Asperger's (I guess now it would be called mild autism or something).

Gud, I hope getting a diagnosis is helpful for you!

I feel like I'm oversharing here but I also have wanted to say this even long before I knew about RSD.

Thank you for sharing, askye! I've heard of Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria because I've been looking into symptoms of inattentive ADHD for "it me?" reasons, so I'm really glad that you're talking about this here. I hope you'll feel comfortable telling us about your progress, mostly for your sake, but also for those of us here who may learn from your experiences. I've been going through some AHDH quizzes and struggling with how to answer certain questions because I've developed some labyrinthine coping mechanisms, and I had been dismissing RSD as a symptom until I recently started thinking about it in terms of things I'm not doing like you mentioned with isolating.

I definitely have ended up on ADHD tiktok and wonder if it’s me or if it’s everyone. But I hear the RSD and feel like I’ve attributed it to depression in the past.

I have made the astounding discovery that kale tastes much better if you fry it in bacon grease for a couple of minutes. Who could have guessed?
