I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Yay Sumi!

I think I may be too much of a stickler for using my preferred tire shop... they've been putting me off for a week because their ONE tire technician gets overbooked fast, and meanwhile most of the convenience store air pumps in the city seem to be out of order, missing nozzles, or have work trucks that obviously aren't going anywhere anytime soon parked in front of them.

From the hot dog cart- Italian sausage with peppers and onions and no bread

Nice! Super Duper Burger does a great lettuce wrapped burger.

Oh, you know what is delicious? Scrambled egg with cream cheese and salsa.

Mmmmm!

Super Duper Burger

Do the burgers live up to the superlative, whether lettuce-wrapped or on a bun? "Super Duper" is a lot to live up to.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Cream cheese can help a lot of things. Butter and cream (liquid) can also help.

Our wings are not tired.

Well, I made a command decision to leave super early Monday morning. I'm generally awake before 6, so if I pack Sunday night I can be on the road by that time. That way I can still (hopefully) watch fireworks Sunday and get out of here before Hurricane Elsa makes her appearance. If we are getting bands Sunday night not sure fireworks will happen.

They are my preferred hamburger right now. They're basically on an In N Out model, but with organic foodstuffs. Their burgers are kind of like Smashburger, I think. Thinner with crispy edges. The thing that stands out to me is they are always properly seasoned. Beef needs a lot of salt!

Dangit, I might have to go get one now.

I had no idea. Interesting.

The pounds all came back, with friends, because I am one of the 95% for whom that happens.

Yeah, I'm fully on board the "diets don't work" train, BUT I also can't fit into most of my outside clothes, so I'm going to try some minor changes to see what is sustainable.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

DH has been on a strict keto diet since he was diagnosed with diabetes almost two years ago. He lost 40 lbs and his sugars have been in the normal range with no drugs. He loves meat and veggies, so he’s pretty happy. I am still eating carbs, but less of them, and I’ve cut out refined sugar altogether. Not diabetic and I want to stay that way. Also, I have NO willpower, somI can’t cut down on sweets. I can eat none, or all the chocolate in the world all day long.

That's reasonable. And smaller weight loss amounts are probably a lot more sustainable and enough to make a difference.

One of my favorite breakfasts on that diet was two scrambled eggs and half an avocado with salsa and sour cream. You have to not go crazy with the salsa to meet the carb limits, but you don't need a lot to get flavor.
