I did low carb in the early 2,000 and lost about 70 pounds. The pounds all came back, with friends, because I am one of the 95% for whom that happens. But it was nice while it lasted. It’s hard to feel deprived on a diet that encourages whipping cream in your coffee. I believe I used the book Protein Power as my starting point, [link] , which you may find in your local library. It has guidelines and a number of easy recipes. The authors also wrote the Low Carb Comfort Food cookbook, [link] , which was pretty decent and is currently $2.99 on Amazon for the ebook. I’m sure there are hundreds more books that have come out since, but these worked for me.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
The whole life challenge website has a lot of free recipes. They are not just low carb, they are more like the whole 30, limiting dairy, artificial ingredients, sugars, some types of fats… but they should for the most part comply with protein focused eating.
I found that I could make my eggs fluffier by buying a small carton of just egg whites and adding a couple of tablespoons to each egg. No added cholesterol, but extra fluff.
Our "normal" 3 meal day is quiche for breakfast. My last ones were broccoli and ham for him and asparagus and shrimp for me. They are quite varied, although sliced baby peppers and spinach is a favorite. (crustless of course) Lunch is either a nice chef type salad, egg or tuna salad, or leftovers from the day before. Dinner is from a variety of internet found recipes for casseroles, a chunk of some meat/fish and veggies, stuffed peppers or zucchini are nice. Tonight is a tex/mex variety which involves spiced ground beef and cheese stuffed zucchini. At this point I often just have two meals because not very hungry.
Bottom line is I don't feel deprived with cheese and bacon in my life. The massive change is going from 30+ years of being pescatarian to carnivore. Surprisingly it didn't bother my system at all. I still can't manage anything that involves bones, because ewww.
Seriously folks, I have to get on the road up north, but so much is in progress here. Thinking I should just say screw it and hit the road. Why for can't cloning or teleportation be an option at this point in my life?
Oh, you know what is delicious? Scrambled egg with cream cheese and salsa.
Yay Sumi!
I think I may be too much of a stickler for using my preferred tire shop... they've been putting me off for a week because their ONE tire technician gets overbooked fast, and meanwhile most of the convenience store air pumps in the city seem to be out of order, missing nozzles, or have work trucks that obviously aren't going anywhere anytime soon parked in front of them.
From the hot dog cart- Italian sausage with peppers and onions and no bread
Nice! Super Duper Burger does a great lettuce wrapped burger.

Mmmmm!
Super Duper Burger
Do the burgers live up to the superlative, whether lettuce-wrapped or on a bun? "Super Duper" is a lot to live up to.
Cream cheese can help a lot of things. Butter and cream (liquid) can also help.
In case you ever wondered, here's why submarines fly pirate flags when they return from a mission.
Well, I made a command decision to leave super early Monday morning. I'm generally awake before 6, so if I pack Sunday night I can be on the road by that time. That way I can still (hopefully) watch fireworks Sunday and get out of here before Hurricane Elsa makes her appearance. If we are getting bands Sunday night not sure fireworks will happen.
