That is such an encouraging update, Pix. So happy that meeting up with Drew is happening.
Oh, social meara! Exhausting but a super change.
~ma on the application, Calli.
Trying to make shift to NY plans for summer and it's complicated. Most likely it will happen quickly when the ducks get lined up.
That's good to hear, Pix.
Good to hear some some things are breaking in the right direction, Pix - glad you can get to Montana for a bit.
Good luck, Calli! Would that be moving to a whole new place, or have you ever lived there before?
Meara, I have two dinners downtown this week and I feel like a freaking social butterfly. I bow to your social calendaring!
Wow, Drew and Kristin, you're doing a lot of big, emotional things all at once (and traveling great distances to do them). Take good care of yourselves. Drew, I hope your time with your bio family is lovely. Kristin, I'm glad you've made some progress with your dad.
What Cindy said: you guys are doing a lot - a big roller coaster of emotions.
So I am reading
Heroine Complex
and am wondering if the Michelle Yeoh movie
I Heroic Trio
that is pivotal for the main character is streaming anywhere? I’ve never seen it & it sounds like fun.
That's really good to hear, Kristin. And I'm really excited that Drew gets to spend time with his bio-family.
Glad to hear things are trending up, Kristin! And I'm glad you'll be able to be with Drew when he meets his bio family. Also, glad to hear business is picking back up, Drew.
I'm on call for jury duty the week before I'm supposed to fly to Michigan. I'm waffling on whether to postpone, since I think it's unlikely that I'll be picked to serve on a long trial even if my group has to report. And I would hope that nobody would want me to serve as a juror when I have plane tickets to visit my family for the first time in a year and a half.
We now have more guidance on locations and compensation for when we return to the office. In the short term, I think I'll request a transfer to our San Francisco office so I can just commute downtown rather than spend 4-5 hours a day on a shuttle. And longer term, I'll create a spreadsheet to assess relocation now that my role isn't tied to the Bay Area. But just being able to get rid of that godawful commute will be a huge quality of life improvement.
Good grief - what were you having to do for a commute, shrift? That's brutal.
Would that be moving to a whole new place, or have you ever lived there before?
I grew up in Michigan, but a fair way north of Albion. I visited a few times when my sister went there, but that was eons ago. We chatted about it a bit last week, and my sister says it’s still a lovely small town, near enough to Ann Arbor and Battle Creek if I need city things.
