How did your son handle losing Nova? I know some kids react badly and others don't even seem to notice. Kids be weird.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I'm not sure how he's handling it. Sometimes it seems like he understands that Nova's not coming back, other times I'm not sure. He's been asking when we can get another cat. (Answer: not sure, as we'd like to see how Luna's doing without her sister and introducing a new cat can be stressful.)
He’s processing no doubt. I like having the two cats. They groom and snuggle together. Older cats aren’t particularly fond of new ones though. Tricky.
Random D-Day thought: My parents were married June 10 1944, which I didn't realize was 4 days after D-Day until I probably 30 years old. Mom traveled to Ohio, where Dad was stationed in the Air Force.
Hello all!
I haven’t commented for awhile because I have been going back to work in person, which is good for my brain, but overwhelming. I read and read and read. And think and think and think good thoughts for you all, especially Matt’s mother. Also proud of Windsparrow, and sad about Nova (and Cashmere’s pupperkins that I saw on Facebook). And amazed by an almost adult Matilda
Next week I am going to see my mother, who I haven’t seen since Christmas 2019! What a weird time.
This week Maria and I went to our local animal shelter event, The Fast and the Furriest! And I kept crying when they were talking about last year where the pet parade was virtual. And we are back to the beach. Maria goes every day, because she gets out of school at 3 pm, but I can only go on the weekends. And I am looking forward to my eye exam, because I cannot see a thing with my glasses on.But I also have 3,000 exams that need to be done- I have the mammogram, the eye exam, some sort of liver scan, and then back to the PCP in September. Also the GYN.
Weirdly, going back to work has restarted my terrible hip pain, so I am thinking it is my office chair? I have a theoretically terrible office chair at home, which is just like a doctor’s office chair from the 1970’s, but I sit criss-cross apple sauce on it, which I can;t do on my office chair because it has arms... Not sure how to explain that.

Sitting criss-cross apple sauce would open your hips up completely. So you might be getting nerve compression like sciatica at work. Can you get a new chair at work?
I'm going to my first book club in person this afternoon! I am excite. I've never met any of these people before, but neighbors.
Thanks, Sophia.
At work I alternate between an ordinary decent quality office chair and an exercise ball. The ball is fun. And I have a lot less knee and hip pain since I don't sit still long enough to stiffen up. It totally would not work for sitting crisscross applesauce, though, so I don't know why I brought it up.
I loved my ball office chair. Just bounced around from time to time. Helped with back discomfort.

Yes, I think this is what it is. It is like sciatica but in the front of my leg. I found some stretches for it that help. But I am sad because I have been cured fir a year! So weird. But yesterday at the Fast and the Furriest parade I just wanted to leave to get Advil!
