Glad to hear of Matilda's return to seeing her friends, and, yeah, sounds like an excellent summer ahead. All good.
Hope it turns up, meara. I hate that kind of shit.
Had a totally relaxing afternoon. Did the crossword, and then we went to lunch at Jimmy's Old Town Tavern, which lived up to its name. Very much full of regulars. We sat in the room where the poker tournament was going on, as you do. A women's biking (motor) group was chatting in the bathroom. I had fish and chips in defiance of my gf life. Came home, napped, went out for ice cream, and now we're watching a movie. I anticipate an early bed time. Is good.

Conversely, I found a woman's wallet on the street and was able to track her down and call her today. So she is very happy to be getting it back.
I was able to find a lot of stuff off her driver's license, but couldn't get past pay sites to get her phone number. So, I played my ace in the hole - one of my Kenyon friends is a private detective and I had her look up the phone number. Which she tracked down and an email in about three minutes.
It is baffling to me when people do not carry emergency contact info in their wallets alongside their IDs.
Even my phone and iPad have “If found....” info on the lock screens.

Well her wallet was "Pure Hemp - Made in Nepal" so she might not exactly be the emergency contact forethinking type.
Hey, man, she trusted the universal karma, and it worked!

Good thing I had a PI on the case! Because I doubt she was going to check her FB message any time soon.
Yeah I’ve definitely seen stuff posted on next door and buy nothing and stuff being like “if you’re Anna Smith, or know her, I have something of hers that she lost!”
Rainy Memorial Day weekend here. Yesterday I went to a dinner for highschool friend’s birthday outside of DC. Really lovely to see and hug people.
Today I am going to cook and clean.
Good morning! To those of you hoping to leave Bainbridge Island by ferry today, hope you like queueing: the smaller boat that replaced the one that's out for six months due to an engine fire is itself out, and has been replaced with an even smaller boat. What this means in practice is that 58 fewer vehicles will be boarding on every other crossing.
Bev and I had the most fun of all funs to be had, with bonus long drives in the Mini, a stop for Top Pot donuts and time at the Skagit Valley Co-op. Today Jim and I are relaxing/hiding from visitors and will only leave to get milk. Now for waffles!
Timelies all!
The day started out well, with me sleeping until just before the alarm, and Mr. S not getting up until after 8, but alas, no. He's been disruptive and annoying all day.
