I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Eye dr Appt today. Sadly my OG glasses that I broke cannot be fixed and the frames are discontinued so 1 set of new frames and new lenses in my sunglasses -almost $400 after insurance! I will spend some time today on some online places to see if I can snag any fun frames that with my script will be less than $100.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

You know how there's this stereotype of the suburban parent driving and the kids in the back seat are pelting them with questions (are we there yet? are we there yet?). Well, turns out that's not the worst thing possible. A young soldier in South Carolina flagged down a school bus and got on. He was carrying a rifle and wanted the driver to take him ... somewhere. He got the kids in the front of the bus. And - yes - they were inundating him with questions until he gave up, got the driver to stop and got off the bus. As I often say, I don't have to make this up.

What is even happening?

The news article at Toddson's link characterizes it as a hijacking.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Board's quiet today...

Punishingly Intricate

I haven't read the article but I was week wondering why tf a bus driver would pick up someone with a gun! Jesus, that's terrifying.

I think he felt he didn't have a choice, lisah.

Is intolerance to spicy food a superpower? I'm eating leftover shrimp biryani (that was a bit too spicy to begin with, but cooled down with raita on it) that seems to have gotten WAY spicier in the fridge. Or possibly I have become even more intolerant of spicy food in the last 8 hours. Dang it, Moderna!

So far, no side effects, though I didn't really expect any this early. (I have read about some people developing side effects within a few hours, but that's more on the outer edge of the bell curve.)

I hope you're feeling okay today, Teppy.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Feeling a little crappy -- headache, generally achy, and a fever. I'm hoping to sleep it off. And side effects are a fair tradeoff for antibodies, so I can live with it.

Our wings are not tired.

Go antibodies! Yeah, hydrate a bunch.

Uuuugg. I got given a project where I’m supposed to do my job and also a different job. And I hate it and have no idea what I’m doing and have been doing it for two months but only get the training next week. But Monday I have to present a big slide deck of various things to higher ups that is a routine process except NOT FOR MY NORMAL JOB and I have no idea what any of it is (even the parts where I can fill it out because it says “insert screenshot of X” I don’t know what I would then SAY about X??) hate this.

That's how I felt about the side-effects. I didn't feel well, but I've felt worse, and at least I knew the shot was working.
