Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm checking in.

I worked about 6 weeks in December/January without a day off (not even xmas). I was working 60-80 hour weeks up until March, which left me so stressed and anxious I couldn't think straight, affecting my job performance.

They terminated my contract on March 3rd. My mom passed away a few days later. March was not good.

I'm still looking for a job. The job marked for database developers sucks now. If I had more skills as a database administrator I could easily find a job with a big salary, but the jobs I am qualified for are getting on average 30 applications. I thank the goddess (and Democrats) that the government is paying for my COBRA.

On the bright side, a new AD has made this stuff much easier to deal with.

Sorry it's been rough, tommyrot.

Our wings are not tired.

Tommyrot!! I'm sorry it has been such a difficult time, for such a long stretch. It is lovely to see your font.

Thanks Gud and Laura. Now that I have more free time I'll try and stay caught up here.

Punishingly Intricate

I was terrified of general anesthesia until I had it and now I LOVE it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Thanks for checking in, Tommyrot. That sounds like a brutal stretch.

The good news is that your free time aligns pretty well with things opening up.

That is definitely Emmett's take. He will rhapsodize about all three times he's been put under (broken nose fixed, wisdom teeth, having his tongue-tie cut).

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Just came across a variation on the "May the Fourth be with you" humor. New to me, anyway.

"Tomorrow will be the Revenge of the Fifth."

Maybe it should be, "Soon will come the Revenge of the Sixth!"

I dunno.

Woo, we got tommyrot AND Gudanov posting today! Hi!

ION, I have discovered a word for what I am: agender. I'm trying to figure out if I'm aromantic.

As Captain Raymond Holt said, "Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place." I'm aroace, which is not new, but I forget who knows or has been around if I get grumpy when sweeping truths about what makes us human don't include people like me. Or perhaps people like us! I hope you find the words that best describe you.
