Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

Woo, we got tommyrot AND Gudanov posting today! Hi!

ION, I have discovered a word for what I am: agender. I'm trying to figure out if I'm aromantic.

As Captain Raymond Holt said, "Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place." I'm aroace, which is not new, but I forget who knows or has been around if I get grumpy when sweeping truths about what makes us human don't include people like me. Or perhaps people like us! I hope you find the words that best describe you.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

shrift, I totally agree. Thanks. I was surprised at how empowering it was to find that term that describes me.

I just talked to my old boss in Highland Park, IL. He says I can have one of his clients. It would only be about $1000 per month, but if I remain otherwise unemployed I can at least cover the gap in my work history.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I was surprised at how empowering it was to find that term that describes me.

It's so great how people have more opportunity to identify themselves in ways meaningful to them.

Tommyrot that sucks but yay government paying cobra and new AD!

Shrift I don’t think I knew that! Go you.

I just got off the phone with someone who needs to deal with a huge spreadsheet of issues. Which comes out quarterly and she ought to be familiar with. Turns out not only is she not familiar with it, she is the WORST in excel. Like, couldn’t even figure out how to scroll, half the time. Or filter. Or sort. I was trying to walk her through it and it was just awful. Yikes.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I had a friend in college who was Cape Coloured (presumably still is, of course) and enjoyed making Americans stammer by saying it.

When a dude who grew up under Apartheid tells you he finds American racism more intrusive on his life that stings. "They follow me in stores because they think I'm Latino, then when I speak they think I'm English and suddenly they want to be my best friend..."

Gary was fun.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

As Captain Raymond Holt said, "Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place."

Aw, I love that.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It's so great how people have more opportunity to identify themselves in ways meaningful to them.

Right? It makes me so happy to see it happening. Pink sparkly hearts to alla y'all figuring this stuff out

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yes indeed!

I was terrified of general anesthesia until I had it and now I LOVE it.

They gave me IV Benadryl after a procedure once and I still think about it wistfully.

Man, IV morphine was so fucking good.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I remember when I went to the ER with BAD abdominal pain (turned out to be appendicitis) and they gave me morphine. I felt it go through my veins and kind of went "ooooh" which had the nurse (or whoever) kind of grin at me.
