When I signed up on the CVS site, it basically said “you get what you get and you don’t complain about it, missy!” So Moderna it is.
Yeah, the clinic I went to said it offered Pfizer and Moderna, but basically, they do different brands on different days, and you take what they offer. I wasn't sure what I would get, but I was just happy to get it.
askye, I got my 2nd Moderna shot on Thursday afternoon. I made a point of pre-hydrating, and having supplies laid in - orange juice, V8, Gatorade, Pedialyte, bananas, chicken soup, etc. Felt okay until mid-day Friday, then slept on and off until Saturday afternoon (now). I've had a fever on and off for the last twenty-four hours, but I'm feeling better now.
I'm glad you're feeling better, dcp.
askye, on Twitter, my pinned tweet is the start of the thread on how my side-effects played out. If you're a person who wants spoilers, read it. If that makes you feel anxious, avoid it.

Yeah, when I got it, they had it organized so that everybody on the same day gets the same kind, and then you come back exactly 21 days later to get your second one, so they just have to make sure the days line up right.
Kaiser was handing out tokens when you came in the door with Ps or Ms (J&J was on hold) and when I got my first shot there were a lot of people getting their second shot who had to specify what they’d had before. I guess that’ll be me in a couple of weeks.
I was at a POD mostly for DoE employees at a high school gym. We got Moderna because it's a little easier to handle for that kind of setting. The hospital right by the school where my office is does Pfizer. I expect it to be overrun with teenagers in the near future.
My university had several vax sites open to staff and instructors, and they all had Pfizer. So that’s what I got.
Timelies all!
Mixed marriage here. I'm Team Moderna, since that's what NIH was giving their employees. Gary's Team Pfizer, and has an appointment for his second shot Friday.(He went through the county site.)
Jim's mother is in the hospital with a fever. I have said no, I'm sorry, our limit is one parent hospitalized per week, she'll simply have to get better and go home.
Excellent advice, amyparker. Let's hope she does just that!
Dana, there's a fic writer who was very prolific in SGA and SPN fandoms on LJ. Most of her stuff migrated to AO3, and she is now writing in CQL, just as an observance of trivia.
Hooray for everybody getting whatever kind of vaccine they can, even if they have to fly from another country to do it!
Timelies all!
So very frustrated with dealing with Mr. S. He's been annoying, bossy and rude a lot lately,
You make reasonable proclamations, amyparker.
Sorry you're dealing with that, Sheryl.
I had brunch OUTSIDE at a RESTAURANT with a FRIEND today for the first time in a year and a half. Joy. All fully vaccinated, natch. It was a beautiful day, too. So nice.
