All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I don't like seeing "Held at Post Office, At Customer Request" on the tracking page for a package. That's certainly not a request that I made. The last thing I want to do is stand in line at the PO when I know that one reason delivery is so messed up is that they have a number of staff out with Covid.

What is even happening?

Speaking of LBD, you all probably already know about this, but I did not (unless I previously wiped it from my mind).

Christopher Lee's (yeah, no *that* Christopher Lee) heavy metal "Little Drummer Boy": [link]

I feel like I need to do some penance for that LBD vid.

I only see TikTok vids when they get big enough that someone imports them from Twitter. This morning, I learned about "Korean Dad" (or possibly "Your Korean Dad") Nick Cho, co-founder of San Francisco’s Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters.

I saw a compilation of Cho's videos from Now This: [link]

Then I read about him on Radio.com: [link]

My faith in humanity just ticked up a notch. The feeling is so unfamiliar as of late, that it startled me.

Remember in school if teacher's were 10 minutes late, we ditched class? Or was that just us?

I think it should be the same with remote work. If it takes more than half an hour to get connected you should get a free day.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Remember in school if teacher's were 10 minutes late, we ditched class? Or was that just us?

We always claimed there was a 10 minute rule in high school, but we never got the opportunity to put it into practice.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, that Korean dad is the best.

Speaking of Koreans (???), I started watching Kim's Convenience, and that show is sweet.

Our wings are not tired.

Yesterday was a day. I don't do many Zoom meetings, but I had 2. The first was a training session with a vendor, staff at an office, and an office manager from her home. DH went to the office to make sure the staff got connected without issue. The office manager was a horror. The trainer couldn't get through a phrase without rude interruptions of complaints or irrelevant questions. The office staff were rolling their eyes and telling DH that she is always like that and not to worry they understood the training just fine. I wrote to the vendor and apologized for the obnoxious manager and they said they discussed later 'poor Laura and Brendon' and how they felt bad that we had to deal with her regularly. They of course laughed it off.

The second was an evening meeting with a few of my doctors and another tech type. The practice was my first medical customer with the doctor coming to me when I was pregnant with Bobby and asking me if we could write something to scan his charts because if he didn't get rid of them he would have to move his office. I remember the first time I met him so well. He was a very conservative orthodox gentleman who didn't bat an eye when he was told that I was the expert to talk to about programming. (26 years ago) I was 8 months pregnant in Florida in the summer, so you might say I had on as little as humanly possible to not be arrested for indecency. He sat in my office and discussed his issues giving me all the respect. This was so rare back in those days that I have a soft spot in my heart for him. Alas, he passed away about a decade ago, but the other 5 doctors are still using my software. Anyway, it was supposed to be 30 minutes and ended up being 90 because we discussed a whole lot of technical stuff and it was just super pleasant with everyone letting each other speak and being respectful.

FWIW, both the obnoxious office manager, and the doctor group are hard core right wing political types. The tech in the second group even was talking about protecting their data from countries like Iran, which I found amusing. Yes, we do block pretty much everything anyway, including Iran.

So, yeah, work. Why wasn't I born financially independent? It ain't right I tell ya.

My son talked us into watching this as he loves it, but after a whole lot of episodes I just am not endeared to any of the characters enough to care what happens next. Kinda sad about that. Might try again at some point.
