I always tell people - and remind myself - that the first time you do anything is the hardest.
I am cognizant that I didn't have anything like a Zoom job interview when I was 14. Or really any kind of real job interview until I was between HS and college.
Also, her SotA application process was as involved and stressful as a college application. Which I was a barely able to do at 18, much less 13 when she did hers.
Congrats to Matilda on getting the job, and to the Zmayhem household for surviving the process!
A co-worker shared this article today, and it really resonated with me. Languishing is *exactly* how I feel lately.
Oh, wow, that's a term I need to know

That feels pretty accurate, yeah.
Woo, a good thing for Matilda!
I get my second jab tomorrow, so I'll probably spend the next couple of weeks scheduling all of the in-person appointments for when I'm at full immunity. I'll have to see if my stylist is still working at the salon, because something needs to be done with this mop of hair on my head.
I also finally got notice from the IRS that I do not, in fact, owe them like $50K and the inquiry is closed. Zero regrets about paying an accountant to handle that for me.

I have the worst goddamn FOMO watching everyone get vaccinated. (I can get vaccinated the first week of May, so not much longer. But still, the wait is making me so impatient!)
Yay not owing the IRS! Also yay vaccines!
...I had more but my brain is slow today
Yay Matilda! I'm so glad something came through for her.
Yay Shrift's accountant! I'm glad the IRS stuff is resolved.
I just had my yearly review, and it went well. I keep saying I'm going to get another job in MI, and I just have to keep this one going until then. But another job has yet to materialize, so I'm glad this one is going well. And I have a new title (not really a promotion, more a recognization that my work priorities are different now), and I can make that look good on LinkedIn. Career progress! Sort of. Anyway, I broke out the second half of a pint of Ben and Jerry's to celebrate. (Chocolate fudge brownie.)
