Yay Matilda! I'm so glad something came through for her.
Yay Shrift's accountant! I'm glad the IRS stuff is resolved.
I just had my yearly review, and it went well. I keep saying I'm going to get another job in MI, and I just have to keep this one going until then. But another job has yet to materialize, so I'm glad this one is going well. And I have a new title (not really a promotion, more a recognization that my work priorities are different now), and I can make that look good on LinkedIn. Career progress! Sort of. Anyway, I broke out the second half of a pint of Ben and Jerry's to celebrate. (Chocolate fudge brownie.)
Eeep. Waiting for verdict. Sending peaceful and justice thoughts.
A co-worker shared this article today, and it really resonated with me. Languishing is *exactly* how I feel lately.
This was so helpful. Of course, I am stuck just being addicted to Best Fiends. Damn you Kevin Flynn for Crime Writers on! They have been advertising for it this whole time, and I wasn't feeling up to it. Now I am and I can't stop playing. I am acheiving flow, I guess.... Also, a Buffista is one of their favorite listeners and appears on the Patreon Book Club. Anyway, a great podcast if you like people who think critically about documentary podcasts, movies and TV series. Although the theme is true crime, it is really four smart people analyzing things, kind of like we used to do with Buffy.
I am so glad Matilda got the job!
Chauvin guilty on all 3 counts. Thank god.
As a friend in Minneapolis said, she’s now worried the MPD will take it out on the city. But it’s something....
Languishing is very applicable for me.
"Languishing" is a better word than what I've been using which is "purgatorial."
I'm worried about Chauvin's trial going to Appeal.
Apparently we haven't finished all the paperwork. Look at this thorny bit of bureaucratic direction and thank the Gods, Old and New, that you don't have to parse this:
"Please note, the work permit is not complete yet. The parent’s and employer’s email address should be entered on the request. The next step is for the parent to check their email and complete their part on the form. Once that is done, the request will then be sent to this email for the Employer section. Once we completed the Employer’s section, it will be routed to SFUSD’s Work Permit Office for their final approval. Please provide us a copy once you received the final approval."
This is one form out of many. Ain't no paperwork like City Employment paperwork!

I'm worried about Chauvin's trial going to Appeal.
My only concern there was the jury not being sequestered. So not a lawyer, but I think they should have been.

The Judge already said that Maxine Waters' comment could be grounds for Appeal.
