um, it's that time of year again ... here's a BRIEF (thank whatever deity watches over me) video of the White House holiday decor.
It's amazing how she manages to have decorations that are neither stylish nor homey. They are not even gloriously tacky or over the top. They're just boring.
OMG- I am zoom moderating and am so bored. They are in breakout rooms, so I had a stressful time putting them there, but now I am just sitting here in case people get kicked out. What a weird job I have! I have cleaned up my email, and almost caught up on mindless things, and I don;t have it in me to do any more non-mindless things. I also have a zoom Voicethread training at 7PM, but this doesn't end until 7:20, so I guess I get to do two zooms from two devices...

Dylan and I decided it looks like a Macy's. It's not as grim as her previous efforts, but entirely lacking the personality and thoughtfulness that literally every other FLOTUS in my recollection brought to the task.
Speaking of holiday cheer, have the address lists for the Buffista card exchange gone out yet? I haven't seen anything, but it's easy to accidentally delete a real email this time of year when every organization that's ever got my email for any reason is trying to sell me something or get me to donate to their cause.

I saw some commentary about Elliot Page on tumblr. It was all supportive and sensitive, which means either the world’s improving or I’ve curated my follows really well.
ETA: re: the house. Look, pick a theme. Baby Jesus? Great! Classical children’s’ toys? Delightful. Winter wonderland? Fantastic. But seeing them all kludged together makes me think the house was owned by a Christmas decoration company whose primary warehouse property was repossessed.

The Madwoman in the Attic (who is a professional baker) scoffs in derision at silicone loaf pans. She says they're too flimsy and will change shape, which will affect the bread baking evenly and the texture.
