Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I fucking did it! I got my vax appts at the closest place to me, and after work on a Thursday! Could not be any better!

Hell yeah! I love seeing everybody getting their shots. I love it so much.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Finally got Jim an appointment for next Saturday; I don't qualify until the 15th.

Yay, more vax appts!

Our wings are not tired.

Happy Easter and/or Happy Sunday! It really is such a delight to read about my friends and family getting their vaccines. I love the stories of planned reunions and hugs. Brendon gets his first one this morning!

What is even happening?

Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

Teppy, I know you've been eager to become eligible for the COVID vaccine. I just read on the CDC website that if you were treated with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma, you should wait 90 days before getting the shot. You probably already know this, but just in case... [link] (scroll down to the "If I have already had COVID-19 and recovered..." section of the FAQ).

Sophia, I'm sorry to hear about Maria's mom. You're being such a good friend.

Tom Scola, I hope you had a good birthday.

Yay for Jesse, Hec, Hil, Jim, and Brendon for getting vaccine appointments, and anyone else I missed. I'm happy to see we seem to be getting jabbed at quite a clip.

Our wings are not tired.

Leaving my sister this morning after a few days visit. We stayed up until after 1 last night watching Da Vinci code and Angels & Demons. We really missed our other sister who is the big watching movies until all hours girl. But she was proud of us! We decided the movie choices could be broadly considered Easter movies.

Now to head home and see what surprise Brendon has been working on for me this past week. All I know is it involved turning off the water a couple times and the stucco guy.

Thanks, Cindy! I did read that a couple of weeks ago, because Tim’s been eligible for the vaccine since March 12, and I’ve been eligible since March 19. But we both got monoclonal antibody treatment at the beginning of February, so we’re waiting until the first week of May to get vaccinated.

Thrive to spite them

I skimmed a lot.

Sophia much love to you and Maria and her family .

Happy belated Scola Day.

I have an appointment for the first shot on Wed and the other May 5. Mom has eye surgery May 12 , nothing serious , her upper lids are hooded and it's obscuring her vision and she's getting her lower lids down because she's wants to have her eye bags taken care of for decades and now she can.

I won't be 100% vaccinated but mom is. Either I'm going to help or she'll get someone else depending on how safe it feels for her.

Work has been super busy. We still don't have a store manager although apparently there is another candidate. I think the assistant managers and team managers are doing a good job of keeping things going and providing leadership but I really miss our former manager. I know it was his leadership that got us Best of. I hope we get a good manager soon. It would reduce some of the stress.

I think I knew Tim was eligible, but I didn't realize (or maybe remember) you were. I know Ohio's eligibility has been even more byzantine than MA's. I'm glad it's all sorted for you, Teppy.

We're having my mother over for Easter dinner, today.

She and my husband are both almost 4 weeks past their second Pfizer dose. C's two weeks are up on Tuesday. I get my 2nd shot on Thursday. J had her first shot five days ago. Mom has only visited with my fully immunized cousin & husband.

J started working (she's training as a pharmacy tech, which is how she became eligible). At this point, I'm the one most at risk, and my biggest risk factor is that J still lives at home. After following the news this week (that indicates the fully vaccinated are unlikely to spread the virus), we felt my mother poses no risk to the household that isn't already present because of J or DH (who just does our shopping).

B is still unvaccinated. He's going to his girlfriend's parents' house for the day. She's vaccinated. The parents are, too. It's just B and her little brother who haven't been.

I just want to say that it's so nice to be here and read posts from people who are excited about getting vaccinated. Living in Texas, I feel like I'm surrounded by anti-mask, anti-vax nut jobs, and it's nice to know that there are sane people out in the world.

Congratulations to all who are vaccinated or are about to be. There is a light at the end of this tunnel.
