Thanks, Cindy! I did read that a couple of weeks ago, because Tim’s been eligible for the vaccine since March 12, and I’ve been eligible since March 19. But we both got monoclonal antibody treatment at the beginning of February, so we’re waiting until the first week of May to get vaccinated.
I think I knew Tim was eligible, but I didn't realize (or maybe remember) you were. I know Ohio's eligibility has been even more byzantine than MA's. I'm glad it's all sorted for you, Teppy.
We're having my mother over for Easter dinner, today.
She and my husband are both almost 4 weeks past their second Pfizer dose. C's two weeks are up on Tuesday. I get my 2nd shot on Thursday. J had her first shot five days ago. Mom has only visited with my fully immunized cousin & husband.
J started working (she's training as a pharmacy tech, which is how she became eligible). At this point, I'm the one most at risk, and my biggest risk factor is that J still lives at home. After following the news this week (that indicates the fully vaccinated are unlikely to spread the virus), we felt my mother poses no risk to the household that isn't already present because of J or DH (who just does our shopping).
B is still unvaccinated. He's going to his girlfriend's parents' house for the day. She's vaccinated. The parents are, too. It's just B and her little brother who haven't been.
I just want to say that it's so nice to be here and read posts from people who are excited about getting vaccinated. Living in Texas, I feel like I'm surrounded by anti-mask, anti-vax nut jobs, and it's nice to know that there are sane people out in the world.
Congratulations to all who are vaccinated or are about to be. There is a light at the end of this tunnel.
I think the nutjobs here are a minority, though they're certainly loud, and there's more of them than I'd like. I hope that enough people will get vaccinated to make things safe.
The people I spoke with giving vaccines said it was such a change of pace to have everyone happy, excited, and grateful to get a needle stuck in their arm. They said it has been an awesome experience.
I am back home! Brendon ripped apart our utility room to move around the washer and dryer and install a bunch of cabinetry. He did not complete the project before my return, but it is super nifty. When he is done I'll post FB pics.
I never watched The O.C., but I feel like I did, from the old days in Natter. I just saw on Twitter that Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke have started a re-watch podcast aptly titled, "Welcome to the O.C., Bitches!" [link]
Timelies all!
Pizza order has been placed.
We ordered Indian from a place nearby, and it was really good. Yay.
Also, a nice neighbor stopped by with a hanging plant for our backyard, some cupcakes, and a lovely card! I was taking a nap, but DH spoke with her. So kind! We will reciprocate, of course, but how neighborly. Our landlords said she was a nice lady, and he was right. We might even have neighbors we can, like, invite over for dinner and stuff. Like people did in the olden days.
We had Chinese food for dinner, which was yum, and I have two days worth of yummy leftovers to look forward to!
Watched "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" which while fairly un-Easter-y was pretty damn good. (Cut to me saying "THAT was Viola Davis? Damn.")

Is Chadwick Boseman in that?
