Spike: Heard what happened up top, offing your dad and all. Don't know if you know this, but, uh…I killed my mum. Actually, I'd already killed her, and then she tried to shag me, so I had to-- Wesley: Thank you. I'm…very comforted.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Lots and lots of health~ma to E., sj.

Today I Adulted and after two years of delaying the inevitable I went outside and bought some clothes, something that I detest with my whole being. But I got what I needed, so yay for that.

Our wings are not tired.

~ma for E being sent.

I'm going to see my sister Wednesday! My brother can't take her for her 2nd Covid shot because he has a doctor's appointment so she called and asked if I could go over. Yes! I haven't seen her in over a year. She needs to use a wheelchair to get into the facility and really can't manage it by herself. Mostly I am just really looking forward to setting eyes on her. I'll stay overnight so maybe can help with some house stuff too.

What is even happening?

New York, Cuomo just opened up COVID vaccinations to people 30 years old and above. [link]

New York will open vaccine eligibility to those age 30+ Tuesday and extend it universally to those age 16+ on April 6; another group of essential workers in New Jersey earned eligibility on Monday

sj, all the healthma to your mom's friend, E.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Man, I have to wait another month to get vaccinated, and I'm so damn impatient!

Also, I feel like the CDC director could have come up with a better phrase than "impending doom." Jesus.

What is even happening?

In re "impending doom," I think they're trying to break through the denial of the ignorant, the cultists, and even the more reasonable people who went a little loosey goosey when we passed the year mark and had the promise of these pretty damned effective vaccines.

Volans posted something the other day (maybe on Twitter) — an analysis of how so very much of the pandemic coverage is/was negative.

I was thinking about the why of that. When Agent Orange was in office, it seems to me the responsible factions of the press were trying to counteract his irresponsible (not a strong enough word) COVID messaging. Now, I think people like Dr. Walensky are watching GOP governors open up fully WHILE DROPPING mask mandates, and now we're on the precipice of a fourth surge.

Our wings are not tired.

Twice today I have tuned into the murder trial. Torture. I can't even imagine being on this jury. I only last a few minutes.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Took the day off because Mr. S is on spring break and the nanny had appointments for her kids in the morning. I originally asked for today as a telework day, but was told I couldn't do that because another person in the lab asked for telework that day.(Taking annual leave was ok. Don't ask me why.)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Laura, in regard to trying to find a boat your DH can stand up in, there's a BBC show called Escape to the Country - people living in (more or less ) urban areas go looking for a home - usually an older/historic one - in a more rural area. On one show, the husband of the couple is tall (not DH tall, but taller than average) and they were looking for a place in the country where he could reliably stand up and walk without hitting his head. They were having problems with that.

Todd, there are lots of times that Brendon can't stand in parts of people's homes, including the house I lived in when we were first married. He says when you are his height you get used to it. I don't think I would get used to the ceiling brushing against my hair on a regular basis, but I'll take his word for it.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am thinking of the toilet at the theatre where I worked that was WAY TOO TALL for me. So weird to not touch your feet to the floor while peeing!
