Timelies all!
Tired and cranky this morning.(It doesn't help that Mr. S has been annoying for most of the day.) Went to the local kosher supermarket for Passover stuff for us and for my MIL. Tomorrow is my telework day, and I will be running my MIL's stuff to her house at some point. Whee.
In my experience, the post-Covid is the bullshitiest. Just in the weak, tired and brain fog symptoms, not even taking into consideration the hyponatremia and seizures. Maybe the brain fog is hyponatremia, I am not sure. But it sucks.
And it ends up in a pile, sitting there, not being purged at all.
Oh look, it's our house.
And mine. Ugh.
I have a "Bag for Seattle" but I don't think it's ever making it to Seattle. I'm hoping it makes it to the good resaler / womens' shelter which is the pile it currently lives in.
I am sorry for your weariness, Steph and Sheryl.
Jim told me about a friend of ours who is in the process of emptying the home he shared with his late wife; he remarried earlier this year - my first Zoom wedding, much better than all the funerals - and they are selling two homes to purchase a new one. And if I let my brain linger too long on "all of Barry and Miriam's stuff", it will short out and hide in a corner, for 40 years in one place is a LOT.
One back bedroom is just a large junk drawer, and we don't want to think about the garage or attic. It is just overwhelming. Need to purge, but have to find a method of doing it in small chunks.
Had a 'huge' gathering today, mostly outside. 12 adults and 3 kids. SIL and a couple friends are down visiting from NY. My son and his family, DH's siblings and mother. It was a gorgeous day so sliding glass doors were open and most of us were outside, except those watching basketball inside. It was really nice, although noisy, to have a bunch of family around. (all were mindful, at least half of us were either fully vaccinated or post Covid) I made corned beef and cabbage, and a tempeh variety for the vegans. Tasty. Tired now, but still have to finish cleaning up.
Oh, I never answered your question, Cindy. We move on Thursday. Movers come between 9a and 10a!
DP wanted a nap this afternoon after our drive, so I helped him by rubbing his back. Two hours later, I woke up. I am so helpful! To be fair, he did fall asleep, too... for an hour.
I made a fun inexpensive purchase yesterday. Jane Austen tarot deck.
Decided to do a single card general morning turn.
A card for Celebration. I do believe that if all goes well getting shot #1, there will be cause fir Celebration.
Celebrate!
It's Monday. Seriously Laura, get to work.
For your amusement.
I had a minor shedding event in February, and another one yesterday. Chemo is putting an end to my facial hair experiment: [link]
I liked the grey in the beard. Very distinguished!
"It needs to be elsewhere for two days, the living room is fine, we do not need to find 'the right spot' for your blood pressure cuff or that box of business cards you've been saying you were going to scan for two years"
I salute you from "Can we just spend ten minutes tidying something rather than spending four hours tackling the entire task, which of course requires cleaning the dust mop so we can use it, because ten minutes from now I'm going to regret bringing it up?"
I am joining you from the "my tools need to have the right spot, but then I have to build the proper storage for them & go through what is currently in storage". I am about ready to rent a storage space for M's tools (our current storage is in our building) with my own money, just so we don't have to go through that every. Damn. Time. (I wish we had a shed/maker space near us. If I had the $$$, I would apply for that in a community center-type of thingy way.)
Love the grey, dcp!
