They didn't even ask me what my comorbidity was.(severe asthma) Either they were going on the honor system, or they figured it didn't matter since TX is throwing it open to all over-50s on Monday.
I haven't gotten an appointment yet myself, but the word through the grapevine here is that you have to select from a dropdown why you are eligible when you sign up but when you get the shot you just need your ID and your appointment. For the county provided shots, so you also are supposed to live or work in the county but apparently they are not even checking for that if you have the appointment
I did not need to prove eligibility in NY - nobody even asked* until I was at the vaccination desk and at that point (three check-ins and two hours in) they're not going to turn people away. When you make the appt online you have to check a box that says "Yes I am on the qualifying list" and then another box that says "Yes I read the list again, I really do qualify for one of those reasons" but you don't actually have to provide the reason.
*Except for the nosy woman in line who was very suspicious of all the YOUNG PEOPLE here and demanded several times that I explain to her how they all got appointments (which she clearly didn't believe anyone but her actually had).
I got my appointment for next Friday.
When I got my appointment through Walgreens one of the options on their site was, "I qualify based on guidelines for my county." I checked that since I'm teaching right now and that was just being opened up. I had a letter from my University and other proof of my employment ready to go when I turned up but they only asked for my drivers license and my insurance card, and even the insurance card wasn't required.
Is Ohio not vaccinateing faculty in in person institutions? That seems weird.
Only K-12, not higher ed.
Massachusetts explicitly says they aren't checking eligibility, but the new sign-up system made me swear with scary language that I was telling the truth.
We are also not doing higher ed faculty until it's open to the general public.
And the governor is being an asshole about K-12 teachers, even.
Y'all made me want to check the actual eligibility requirements here and they do not list higher ed, boo. Being homeless does make you eligible, which is good, but to get vaccinated I think you have to register online and have ID, so, not sure how that works out in practice. Maybe they are vaccinating at shelters and support offices.

You are in CA right? I got my shot here in Los Angeles as adjunct faculty in the UC system.
