Our wings are not tired.

Frozen pipes are no fun at all. Ugh.

eta: I've only had them freeze once while I was in residence, but several years when I go to Otter Lake in the spring we find that we didn't get all the water out of the lines and they have busted. Of course this is discovered when I turn on the water and it goes everywhere.

The good news this evening: my dog did not eat a magnet. I thought he did for about an hour, then I found it. (I knocked it off the fridge, he grabbed it and ran, when I caught him there was no magnet in his mouth. But apparently he dropped it on the way, whew!)

Puppy’s first day of doggy daycare is tomorrow! Here’s hoping they’re ready for his energy, because with the snow he’s barely been exercised the past couple days...(omg I need a break)

I’m glad the pipes don’t seem likely to burst, Dana.

We’ve had cold rain for the past several days. I’d prefer snow to be honest. Of course, I’m speaking as someone who wouldn’t have to go anywhere in it and who has good boots and a warm coat for playing in it. Maybe we’ll get some snow Thursday.

Yeah, taking your 10 week old puppy out to pee every 15-30 minutes in a snowstorm gets old pretty quickly. We ended up not getting that much, because it came as shitty little ice pellets instead of snow.

We're getting rain and more rain. We're mostly above freezing - supposed to be in the *50s* today! but predicted to get colder and wetter. sigh ....

What is the recipe of sj's? it sounds like something I'd like, but I don't remember seeing it ... I don't do Facebook or such (sorry ... kind of a luddite).

And in re the impeachment - wouldn't it have been kind of a win-win solution if a bunch of Republican senators said that they didn't regard the proceedings as valid and refused to participate and stayed away for the vote? As long as there was a quorum in the Senate, it could have been possible to achieve a two-thirds vote without them there.

Here's the recipe, Todd: [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Last night we watched the new animated show by various Bob's Burgers creators, with voice work by Nick Offerman titled The Great North. Basically like Bob's Burgers set in Alaska.

And it was great! Really enjoyed the first two episodes which were funny and sweet.

Thanks David.

I also came across a video (can't link to it, sorry), but seemingly you take a bunch of cherry tomatoes, add olive oil, salt and pepper and then plunk a block of feta cheese down in the middle. Bake it, when the cheese is all melted and the tomatoes baked, smoosh them together with fresh basil and finely chopped garlic, add some cooked pasta, mix it all up and then enjoy.

Whoa, so my ICD (implanted heart shocker thing) went off for the first time that I ever noticed this morning. So freaky. I mean, it did what it was supposed to do, so, yay, but... I was just sitting at my computer, and I suddenly had a slow heartbeat, and then my brain just went totally scrambly for a few seconds. My first coherent thought was, "Did I just have a seizure?!?!" But then I realized what it was. Felt things settle, so I relaxed. But weird. Anyway, I have a follow-up appt. in March, and you don't need call the doc unless it happens more than once in 24 hours, so, considering this is the first time since implantation, I'm good. Bizarre, though.

In better news, heading for a cabin in the woods in a couple of hours. Yay.

The recipe that swept Instagram for a week! It's supposed to be tasty.

ION, after a year of being absolutely sedentary, Matilda informed us that the only thing that was keeping her from getting exercise was that she didn't have proper workout clothes or running shoes.

We were dubious but JZ took her to Ross and they came back with two sets of workout clothes and new sneaks.

Voila! She had me get her up early (also unheard of) and she went running before school this morning. She ran for half an hour going around our (large) City block (which goes steeply uphill as well), and came back with an iced coffee before Zoom class.

Bonus: She ran into her friend Iris who was herself headed to the track before class.
