Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I’m not really fond of international health certificates that took me many hours (with good records, I can have one ready in 90 minutes.) to prepare just don’t show up.
Just got an email that a formula we use in a bi-weekly report is wrong and to please see the correct version. Thing is I have emails from May saying to use what I used.
Awaiting email that all is ok or that I need to redo reports back to May.
Also our previous person who received this report? Rightly let go.
AAaaand it is most definitely wrong. Inaccurate wording in one of the old emails led me to make the mistake. Jesus Christo. Now to correct everything.
Oh whew! They do not want corrected ones going back, just going forward.
Formula was wrong by a multiplication of 0.1975 on each line. They can fix that pretty easy, I guess.
I've been in the position of checking, "has our payroll package, used by dozens of offices, been calculating wrong for months?"
(It hadn't, thank goodness.)
Yikes, I hate when you realize somethings been done wrong for a long time and have to go back and fix it all! Worse yet if you do that and then there’s either some other error or they decide it didn’t need to be done...
I am trying to complete my year end review. Not sure how to say “give me my fucking promotion or I quit” in polite terms.
My office uses Paychex (we're a small organization) and there have been ... issues ... in the past. Several years ago, the less-than-competent person in charge of payroll wasn't doing any kind of tracking and - in early December - realized that most people had a lot more leave time accrued than could be used up. Did they consider increasing the amount of time that could be carried over? Nope. That was the year I lost 70 hours of leave time (no, I'm not bitter, not in the least).

Good luck with that. When you're done you can help me figure out the businesslike way of phrasing, "Reviews have been shitty and raises non-existent for a couple of years and now we're in the middle of a pandemic. I have no idea whether I met your imaginary goals, and really could not begin to care less."
Wow, Todd, that is some prime bullshit. I'm a little bitter on your behalf at that.
I hope the rest of y'all's days are substantially less frustrating!

"I feel I have exceeded my potential in my current role, and am ready for more responsibilities and challenges."
