Completely off topic but can anyone recommend a thing to buy/place to buy it? What I want is basically a thick sheet. I want to be able to put it over my bed and duvet, for when I occasionally allow the dog on the bed. Because I want to be able to frequently wash it. But I don’t need it to be a thick blanket, because that would be excessive if I’m under it, and seems like it would be harder to wash and dry. Want something big enough to cover the bed, not just a “throw”. I feel like a regular sheet isn’t quite thick enough though. Suggestions?

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
The engineers at my job love an acronym, but they don't necessarily make any sense.
Oh no, they didn't make sense. Someone managed to contort the name of an IT tool into JALAPENO.

What about a flannel sheet? Flannel seems heavier to me than a regular sheet (percale? is that it?).
And maybe a flannel sheet a size up from your bed? (I hope you don't have a California King.)

Ha!
Oh god, medical studies LIVE for twisting their study name into an acronym. It's alphabet soup.
Oh a flannel sheet is a thought, indeed. I was kind of picturing like, thick linen or something but figuring that would be spendy. And yeah, I have a queen, so a regular sheet or a king size would be fine. (If I let the dog up at the usual hour on the weekend, he’ll often let me sleep in a little)

Oh so very very true. And then they keep trying to make fetch happen by calling it the BReaThINg study or whatever they contorted to—after carefully analyzing the suggestions and not coming up with any names that promise a result but also that refer to the disease or drug somehow, etc etc. it’s ridiculous.
Sounds like a good old fashioned bed spread, but I think flannel would be easier to wash frequently.
Well shit. Up that urgency—not only did the dog figure out how to jump up on the couch today (which he’s previously only done when having zoomies), he ALSO figured out how to jump up onto my bed! (Which is super high up, with storage underneath) He had NEVER managed to do that before, and he did it twice in like five minutes just now! Oh dear.

My favorite medical backronym (which I looked up because this is something all the women in my family have/do) is ACHOO -
Autosomal-dominant Compelling HelioOpthalmic Outburst (ACHOO) Syndrome is characterized by uncontrollable sneezing in response to the sudden exposure to bright light, typically intense sunlight
