Also: I'm sorry to miss both Shir and the memorial. When Shir is on the east coast, I'll be on the west coast, which is also the reason I can't go back out again.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Per the news here, the regional war began. I'll update here as much as I can.
Not too optimistic about my trip, but the flights weren't cancelled yet.
Not too optimistic about my trip, but the flights weren't cancelled yet.
Oof. Fingers crossed.
So I woke up to credit card fraud. Had to cancel my debit card, then fill out a fraud dispute and now I have to go change all my card references on PayPal, Venmo, Amazon etc.
They didn't get that much and it will come back to me, and I do have a separate card so I'm still 21st century functional.
But the really annoying thing is that despite the efforts of the customer service people at my Credit Union, they are going to require that I close out the joint account with JZ and open a new account with me as the sole person attached to it.
Which means all the autopays which we're diligently set up directly to that account number instead of through the card will have to be changed. ::sigh::
However, the tentative plan was for EM to help me compile a master spreadsheet that tracked all online accounts, with logins and passwords and payment schedules. Because I'm really still scrambling every time I need to deal with these accounts.
So we have three months to get that together and that will be better.
Annoyingly, I'll get a new card once they set up the new account and will once again have to go around change all my online accounts that are through the card.
Shir, thinking of you and Nilly and everyone I know there. These are terrifying times.
Hec, ugh! Boo!
Oh Shir!! I hadn't even listened to any news today. I just tuned in. It is really horrific. Selfishly, I hope your flight doesn't get canceled.
What a pain, David. As if your onerous task list wasn't long enough.
Oh Shir. Thinking about you and Nilly all the time these days. And just everyone.
In shelter. Looks like it's gonna be a long night.
Well, it's 2am here, and I can't call any Israeli and ask how they're doing, because if there's a slight chance that they're sleeping, I wouldn't want to wake them up. Even the ones who have to be in shelters and safe rooms right now. But that made me realize y'all may be even more worried than usual, so I poked my head to let you know that we're as OK as possible under the circumstances.
I'm probably the only Israeli who is awake tonight in order to grade, and not be awaken by alarms or attempts to follow the news. Which means me and my immediate family are definitely as fine as possible.
So, um, timelies.
I am given to understand that grading is endless. Or eternal. Or both. Or something.
Anyway...Nilly, glad to hear you and yours are okay. Do what you need to do. Sleep when you can. Stay safe.
Shir, same advice.
Glad to hear from you Nilly! And Shir so sorry to see it’s worse now. Yikes.
