I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

So, is there a dress code for the memorial?

Also, I have to share something. My boss is retiring. My boss is very anti-fuss. She does not want a party, or gift, or a department event, or anything like that. I have respected that, but some of my colleagues are insisting on doing something (why gawd, why?). I have inadvertently been roped into the fuckery because I was asked if I know how to superimpose words on a picture. When I stupidly said yes, they asked me to superimpose a poem that my colleague wrote over a photo. Y'all, I got the poem today and I think that it was written by AI. The first stanza is:

In the quiet corridors of office lore,
Where deadlines hummed and memos soared,
There stood a manager, wise and kind,
Her brilliance a beacon, forever enshrined.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Dress in your best, splendid style with lots of color.

That's some kind of Corporate Poem, alright.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Wow, Vortex. What else can you say but wow.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

hugs to everyone who wants them.

Vortex, that is. Well. That.

Any suggestions on where to stay would be appreciated.

Anyone who has any questions/concerns/etc. about where to stay in SF can email me at my profile gmail account, and I'll be happy to help. Budget/timeframe/desired amenities are good things to add in said email. (Unless, David, you have specific ideas of where folks should stay)

Not really. They might want to be closer to the venue for the Memorial or closer to the Haight but that's up to them.

Our wings are not tired

We are staying at the Hotel Adagio. It's a Marriott property that's nearby and that's where all of my points are. Looks like it should be a nice place.

I’m staying at my regular place, the Stanyan Park Hotel, which is near chez Smay, but pricey, and when I booked it a month ago, already pretty full.

We're staying at the Hotel Majestic. It's close to the venue and looked interesting.

Aftershock!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Another week down the tubes here. School started up again on Tuesday, and Mr. S had a major meltdown. He was quite disregulated the next morning and refusing to take his meds. Eventually he took them, but not before Gary got incredibly frustrated and hit him with a pillow. Once he got to school he had another meltdown and told his teacher that he'd been hit. Which led to police coming by that evening to do a welfare check. When they wanted to talk to him he became physically aggressive, hitting me and one of the officers. This led to him being taken to the ER in handcuffs, again. Gary followed. It was decided Mr. S needed more help than they could offer, and yesterday they found a bed in the same pediatric ward he was in last November.

To sum up: Mr. S is in the hospital again.

sigh...
