Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I liked the halftime show—especially Usher on roller skates! (well done, sir)—even though I don't know more than one of his songs. I loved the whole mid-90s R&B vibe.
When Ludacris joined the performance, I said "I am so uncool, I have no idea who that is," and my 65-year-old stepdad and 75-year-old aunt said "Ludacris!" and I said "Damn, you guys are cooler than me! ...although it's *extremely* easy to be cooler than me."
My hair is also becoming wavy as I get older, and I am DELIGHTED by this
Same here! And I’m also delighted. Also, I was watching a TikTok video the other day and now I understand what your user name means!
My new to me but really refurbished Apple Watch has arrived a day early and I’m waiting for it to charge so I can go to the maket. Because obviously I can’t go until my steps are going to count.
After successfully rescuing -t’s phone, we decided to get lunch at a coffee place on Magazine. I thought we’d beat the lunch crowd, but they serve breakfast and also it’s Lundi Gras. But it’s lovely and quiet on the patio and we haven’t died of starvation yet.
After we may try to find me a shiny shirt for tonight, then back to my house and eventually put to the parade route.
Ugh, Karl! That sucks!
Perhaps because I'd just had The Big Shed, I did not shed after COVID. Might have slowed the regrowth, maybe, but I was waiting for more shed, and more shed never came (then again, I also didn't shed after having a baby, which most people apparently do).
I feel like I should probably stop bleaching, but will keep doing colors on the already bleached parts? I think? But then I do kinda want to cover the gray—I don’t have enough yet for it to look cool.
including a diversion because of a small jet crash on I-75 in Naples
That is not something I would’ve expected to be a traffic jam reason!!
Also I’m very glad the superbowl is over at a reasonable hour (even with overtime) here on the west coast.
Sounds cool, smonster and -t. Hope you continue to have a good time.
my neighbor's sister(whom I hardly knew, no brackets necessary on my account) had one of those "nibbled by an Alsatian" deaths last week. the worst part is, they found her *this week*
My mother keeps wondering what her dogs lived on(best not to think about it, probably.) and being glad she had a robe on, which makes me want to bust out with an Ellen-style "Oh, abled people," but I won't. Cause I'm not either that macabre(yet)or willing to explore just how little fun I've had compared to how on display I have been. Feeling bad for J. who comes here to help, because the dead woman was his wife, K's half-or-stepsister and they were back to spending time together after a long estrangement.
The only Super Bowl commercial I care about is the trailer for Wicked. Elphaba, my girl!
CANCEL SCHOOL TOMORROW YOU COWARDS
(We are expecting 7-12 inches overnight, the village PD has already declared a snow emergency starting at 8pm tonight, and I should NOT have to wait until 5am tomorrow to find out it's a snow day for the kids.)
That is not something I would’ve expected to be a traffic jam reason!!
The Naples plane crash was a 12 seat fancy private jet with 6 aboard. (Coming from Ohio on the way to Fort Lauderdale) They lost both engines somehow and radioed that they had to attempt landing on the highway. The wing clipped the sound wall on the side and tumbled a couple times, then burst into an impressive ball of jet fueled flame. Unimaginably, 3 walked away, like actually walked down the median. I figure it must have broken apart or something allowing them to get out. I didn't watch the local news after the multiple interuptions the first day.
Anyway, 2 days later the stretch was still closed so either delay for the NTSB or repair for the melted roadbed. I'll bet traffic this morning was interesting if it is still closed.
and I should NOT have to wait until 5am tomorrow to find out it's a snow day for the kids
Of course having been raised in NY my first thought was WooT Snow Day! I would operate under the assumption that the busses won't go out, so no school.
