Most places don't make chai with real brewed tea these days. So, the mixing of them doesn't really bother me. Usually it's a powdered mix or a liquid concentrate that don't have much tea in them at all.

Yes that’s true. If I were making chai from scratch I’d find it weirder. But from powdered/concentrate where it’s less tea and more just spices, it feels less weird.
