Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Brought my car in yesterday for regular service, which was free of charge. Unfortunately, my tires had dry rot, so I had to replace them. Sigh…

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc is finally healthy enough to go back to school tomorrow, but there will probably be a delay or a snow day. Because of course. I’m feeling mostly better but have arranged to have therapy electronically tomorrow because I’m still out of spoons.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I finished off a pan of brownies for breakfast while sitting in a meeting about the infuriating Canadian clients, as preparation for the meeting later today with the infuriating Canadian clients. So that's how this morning is going.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ugh. I've got a jillionty bills to pay this morning and thought, "Well, let's get the Mortgage taken care of because you never want to be late on that." And my mortgage company has changed to an LLC and their online payment system is entirely new and not up and functional and they want me to send a check like I'm a godddamn Fuller Brush Salesman in 1951.

So retro!

Tim has jury duty this week (today is day 1, obviously), and he's already been called for voir dire. He is VERY excited about it. If he gets seated on a jury and it goes to trial, I guarantee he'll be the jury foreman. He'll also have 11 new best friends.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

WTF mortgage company! My mortgage has been sold several times so I've dealt with paying a bunch of lenders through different systems but none of them required an actual check. Dark ages, man.

Mmmm, brownies.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Stoppid clients are stoopid.

I had to attend a Webex training I had already attended at my previous position and which did not address the specific issue that had recently been raised which prompted this training in the first place. I had to jump in and give the info on the scenario that was an issue. Waste of time.

"You should never say bad things about the dead, only good… Joan Crawford is dead. Good.” —Bette Davis

My mortgage just got sold to another company, so I'm crossing my fingers their online payment system is up to par. I made my February payment to the current company while I could, along with a fun surprise escrow shortage they sprang on me the same day as the switch. (Hello, year end bonus... goodbye, year end bonus.)

Man, the property values in our county have been reassessed and they have skyrocketed, which means property taxes have shot up. Lots of people's taxes -- including ours -- doubled.

And since property assessments are public record on the auditor's website, it's really easy to check anyone's property value, and a lot of county officials (including the county auditor) did not experience such a huge increase, which may just be a coincidence, but seems sketchy as hell.

I learned all that from a Facebook group of people who are pissed about the new assessments/taxes and are planning to take it up with county commission. I'll be curious to see how it goes.
