Y'all, my work laptop got upgraded from an ancient Toshiba Tecra to a newer if not new ThinkPad (I keep wanting to say IBM but actually Lenovo these days? I am also ancient) and it is surprisingly disorienting! Everything looks slightly different and the keyboard not only is a different enough size to throw off my not-quite-but-almost-touch-typing but, like, the ctrl key is in a different spot
My dog killed my Thinkpad recently and I switched to a DELL G16 (mostly for the dedicated graphics card at a reasonable price) and the shift characters on the keys are below the normal characters instead of above. Keeps freaking me out.
I will say that the DELL G16 does seem to play really well with Linux.
When I successfully managed to get Matilda in for an appointment at the Teen clinic on Wednesday, they noted that they were no longer partnering with my insurance after February. Great?
Ugh. Why does the U.S. health care system have to suck so much?

WHAT!?! Is that legal?
WHAT!?! Is that legal?
I know, right?
It's the money. Why it sucks so much. The presentations I go to use more words than that. Sometimes powerpoints. ETA: In the spirit of "Looking for the helpers," my comrade, Chuck Pennacchio is spearheading an effort to get single-payer in a bunch of Western states. [link]
...gababentin RULES.
On the one hand, I am very glad to read it is working well for you.
On the other hand, I have read a great many scary anecdotes from people in my cancer support group(s) saying how hard it is to quit gabapentin. So when you are ready to do that, do the prep work and planning with your medical team, then taper off carefully and deliberately.
Thanks, dcp -- I had read that, too, so I'll def talk to her first about how to taper off.
Anyone have any trusted sites where you can list symptoms so you can figure out if you need to go to a walk-in clinic? I’ve been down since Tuesday with what I think is the flu, except I don’t have a fever. What I do have is a horrible chesty cough (complete with discolored phlegm), and dizziness and shortness of breath whenever I move from the couch. I am wary of using Dr. Google, and my PCP broke up with me at the end of the year.
