I was honestly surprised that my nonfasting glucose yesterday was only 100.
I'm surprisingly consistent with that 98-102. 100 last time. I've just begun the keto thing again so it will drop.
Well, I got my MRI results, although I haven't talked to the doctor yet. It isn't cool when the first word is severe. The summary is that I have no cartilage left, and other stuff torn, and the bones are for shit on the left hip, and not looking great on the right either but not as bad. However, the muscles, tendons, and sciatic nerve all look dandy! Randomly they say a cyst on my ovary should be looked at with an US, although the MRI was for the hip. So, ya know, I'll see what they have to say, but I suspect they will want to replace these old parts before my lack of mobility reduces these great muscles.
Welp Laura. At least you have the info now.
My Dad has the first of two back/spine surgeries today (the second will be tomorrow ). This will bring him to 6 back or neck surgeries. He’s 80, and although in good health overall, surgery is still surgery and spine stuff is just terrifying.
Any good energy you have to spare could you aim it towards Anaheim/Irvine?
My brother is with mom and dad today, so I’ll be getting updates. Focusing on work = difficult
ltc is sick today. Headed to the pediatricians office soon.
My glucose was 100 for my checkup last week, too!
Now I want to go check mine! I had a similar uptick numbers at the beginning of 2023 where both my A1c and my cholesterol were creeping up which had never been an issue for me before. In June, I started doing a reduced carb, multiple meals (ok “meals”) a day diet thing which has helped both those things as well as breaking me out of some really unhealthy habits. Down 60-some pounds now too.

Copycat! Or, I guess *I'm* the copycat, since your checkup was last week and my ER adventure was Tuesday. Go Team 100 mg/dL Glucose Level! (I think we need a better team name.)
Wait, there's fasting glucose, where normal is 100 or less, and then there's random (non-fasting) glucose, where normal is 180 or less. Mine was non-fasting, which was why I was so surprised it was 100, because that's way below the cutoff. I assumed that since I'm 52 and have a sweet tooth that it would be higher. But I've been doing 30 minutes on the bike 4-5 times a week, and I think that definitely helps.
After I got my lab results last week, where all the results were basically "needs more exercise", I went and bought a rowing machine. I did 5 minutes the first day on Saturday, and worked my way up to 15 minutes yesterday. I think I'll stop increasing when I get to 20 minutes and dial in my strokes/minute. I'm not feeling particularly sore so far, so that's good.
Rowing is hardcore, man. Because it uses everything, unlike a bike or treadmill.
