She's back in the land of attacking my person with hugs and a need for cuddling, which is nice. Occasionally smothering, but nice.
It is nice!

Mac occasionally requests hugs or asks if I need one and those are the best days. He’s almost a foot taller than me, so it’s a bit of a bear hug.
Oscar nominations are out and all I want to do for the rest of the day is plan out the next few weeks of watching schedules, but work expects things to get done.
We've never done much of that in my family. (Here and there...don't want to act like I haven't been touched in twelve years.) And I'm sure that my feelings about that have often been complicated by people I don't really know thinking that if they talk, I won't be able to follow it. Or they don't know what to say and want to take it, like, beyond words and stuff. Which, maybe, *I'm* not good at. So, kind of a lot of unanticipated physical contact that I haven't been all that into, if maybe not, you know, the metoo kind.) And hugging is like having a sense of humor in one way: Everyone thinks they're great at it. Sometimes, not. (Buffistas should give workshops, though.)
Yeah, the dirt in the wound trick is overall sketch... now that I look at it, from my grown perspective, where I don't rub dirt in my eyes... it's all much clearer this way!
Steph, 100%.agree with your soapbox rant on all counts. 100%. Hope your eye woes are getting resolved.
And how are you doing with care and feeding of the Tamagotchi, sj?
I’m pretty sure I’m not having a stroke, considering how long I’m having to wait (they did triage me and get an ECG, which was normal, so that’s nice). Also, I think a migraine is brewing, so that’s going to complicate stuff.
There are 14 people including me in the waiting room, and only 4 of us (including me) are wearing masks. This is the ER waiting room. Covid is still a thing. I am boggled.
[edit] They have not yet offered me dirt to rub in my eye and/or blood pressure.
I’m not sure how one would rub dirt into blood pressure but from my medium medical knowledge I would not recommend.
I mean, I’d be willing to try it.
Pretty sure most medicine in 14th century France was "rub some mugwort on it."
I burst a blood vessel in my eye once, and it was pretty gnarly. Also, I didn’t notice until people at work started commenting, so that was fun. But it didn’t hurt and it resolved, and nothing ever came of it.

Plus honey, garlic, and probably goldenseal.
