Oh dang Pix I figured some east coaster would see my post, not you! I’m still up and there’s a homeless man outside across the street kicking a can and talking to himself who keeps startling me and keeping me up.
Monday evening (around 8pm) my dog went wild barking and we couldn’t figure out at what, and dismissed him. But turns out people were breaking into the apartments downstairs that my friend rents out on Airbnb!! Luckily they didn’t do a ton of damage other than breaking the locks and making a mess, but she went down in the morning to fix something and it was wide open with someone inside hanging out! So go dog. But now the person outside keeps making me suspicious.
I'm sorry for the insomnia. Go puppo with the intruder alert. Good to have an alarm system.
Good job, Rory, but yikes, meara! Yeah, that would have me on alert.
I've been slacking off since the Thanksgiving hurlyburly, but I needed to Deal With Shit.
So, I made a to-do list and I've banging off items pretty good this morning.
Paid the mortgage.
Researched check that I wasn't sure had been cashed.
Avoided sending a check to someone by sending money via Venmo.
Bought tickets for the Friday Bowie tribute show in January that my friends are flying down from Seattle to see. Need to still buy Saturday tickets (they are doing different albums on different nights: Ziggy Stardust on Friday, Aladdin Sane on Saturday).
Still need to send an email, pick up a prescription for Matilda and start the Turkey stew with the thighs I bought.
I did a lot of kitchen cleanup yesterday but I need to push it over the hump and get the whole thing spic and span.
Still not bad before I have my shower.
Impressive productivity, Hec.
Impressive productivity, Hec.
I just sent out two more emails and activated a card!
Mostly because now I'm avoiding doing the dishes.
Adult Life Hack: Using your avoidance impulse to become more productive.
That's a good tactic, David. Mine was using the time for the coffee to brew to either clean the toaster tray OR clean the teakettle OR wipe down the lower cabinet fronts OR wipe down the fridge OR freezer gasket, etc. I'm standing there in a stupor anyway, might as well do a piffling task and pin a star on my collar even before coffee.
And also, Daniel, I'm so sorry for your loss. Love and comfort to you and everyone who loved her.
I'm so sorry for your loss Daniel
My condolences, Daniel. May her memory be a blessing.
Tomorrow I have to start adulting before work and on all my breaks calling every pharmacy I can to see if anyone has Vyvanse or the generic in my dosage. Stupid shortage and it's been a domino effect-- there was/is a shortage of Adderall and so people switched medicine and that medication is now a shortage and it's also a combo of factors including limits to how much can be produced because of being a controlled substance. I've known this is an issue but I haven't had any problems getting my prescription filled, except last month, and so I haven't been proactive. I need to stop taking it on my day's off (unless I really really need it). Tomorrow's Thursday so I have tomorrow and Friday to try and find a pharmacy (hopefully). The worst thing is even if I find one that has some I still have to call the dr to get them to send the prescription to the new pharmacy and hope that it will get filled before they run out. (I will run out of meds on Saturday)
I was also reading that the shortage might last until 2025.
