Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Went to the dentist and had several cavities filled. Afterwards, I got myself a Frappuccino, forgetting the logistics of trying to drink through a straw when one’s mouth is numb. Silly me…

Our wings are not tired.

Checked one onerous task off my list. Did my skin check and am happy to report that all is clear and any new things are just me getting old. Which doesn't bother me so much as skin cancer would.

Next on the list is getting my foot looked at. The dog stepped on it, for the millionth time, but it was right on the joint where I had the bunion surgery a decade ago. It has hurt for a few days and I think needs an X-ray. Anyway, I called the original surgeon person and will see if her office can take a look. Then I need to do something about my hip lockups that doesn't involve needles, or knives, or drugs. These old bones. Sheesh.

Brendon's dad was Canadian and he has said for decades he needs to do something, but hasn't yet.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Congrats, amych!

I do need to make use of my EU citizenship, open a bank account there and transfer some money overseas. I thought to do so before the war because the politics here were bad for the economy, and now with the war I'd like to keep at least some of the value of the money I've earned.

I'm back from another Shiva. I'm planning to go to the funeral of the peace activist that was killed on Oct. 7th, Vivian Silver (they only managed to identify her yesterday. Yes, over 5 weeks and they still can't identify all of the dead from that day). And the disinformation and misinformation about the war in general and her death in particular are sickening. I seriously do not understand in which world people feel like there should be suffering competitions for earn some empathy. Worse, if the details aren't bad enough to their liking and may portray the other side as anything other than pure evil they'll just make up stories about it. This is a sickening popularity contest, from both sides. I just don't get it.

I am very jealous of EU citizenship! Right now I mostly want to run screaming into the woods solely about work after being gone for three days, never mind thinking of the state of politics and the world. Sigh.

Shir and Nilly love that you keep checking in. Any and all updates are welcome and loved.

No one wins in a misery competition. I am seeing too many playing that game.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Thank you. At times I don't write some things here that I feel would be too much. You guys are not in a war right now, and I 100% want you not to be involved in this if you can because it is really awful.

meara, I'm sorry about the no work.

I am very jealous of EU citizenship!

Easy: direct family fled from Germany in 1934 >> paperwork >> wait two years >> "oh hi yes we feel bad about it here's the citzinship we revoked from your grandma's family". I also have a British citzinship which I counted on as an EU citizenship, but someone had to Brexit (mom was born in the UK, after the same family returned from Palestine/Israel to Europe in the 1950s. They really didn't like the Levant but had no other choice to return here. On my grandfather's side the family arrived here in the 188x, because these weren't fun times to be Jewish in Eastern Europe either. My other grandparents came here as refugees during and right after WW2 but I didn't check to see if I can inherit their nationalies because 3 feel excessive as is).

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have no access to any other citizenships. Great great grandfather from Ireland is not recent enough, at least not last I heard. Would consider marriage for most Scandinavian country citizenship though, some European also.

Not great news today from close friend, M. Breast cancer. No info on genetic type yet. Not believed to be metastasized. M was also friend of friend who passed in July and then M’s mother died a week later. M’s dad died from cancer in the late 90s. It’s all sucktastic.

I'm sorry, msbelle. That is a lot of suck. I hope she gets better news.

I have a small victory! My original dinner plan involved roasted asparagus, but when I opened the package it was yuck so I tossed it. The current rainstorm is enough to make me not go out again so I explored my cabinets. I had 2 cucumbers for fresh options. I added black olives, roasted red peppers, and jarred pesto. So yummy!!!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sorry to hear about M, msbelle.

I don't know if any of you are on TikTok, but now I'm laughing about Laura liking store-bought pesto. CRAAZY!
