This weekend was my mother’s birthday and TCG and my 13th wedding anniversary! We’ll have been together 19 years this December. We went to a play by ourselves (True West) and then went to dinner with Mom, stepdad, and ltc. Yesterday we went and looked for some furniture pieces at a couple consignment/antique stores.

need to tap into a little bit of Dad energy

After my Dad died I kept sending Christmas cards to his surviving old buddies. Partly because he'd have wanted them remembered, and partly because they'd send me cards with little notes that were absolutely brimming with Dad energy. And I needed that. Still do, but people born around 1926 are a little thin on the ground these days. Oh well. It's getting around the time when I put on my Escanaba in the Moonlight dvd. It's not so much the Dad energy (although there's a fair bit of that) as it is the very distinctive Upper Peninsula of Michigan accents throughout the movie, which was Dad's accent at home.

ETA: I'm sorry for your loss, Matt.
